Reach into the Past to Understand the Future
By Misty Kuceris ©2023
Understanding your needs is important. Yet there are times when understanding your needs means that you need to return to the past so you can review the lessons learned. Throughout the month of June, there will be times when you either feel like you’re reliving the past or reviewing you past actions. By taking the time to reach back into the past, you will be able to understand your needs and move into the future.
It’s a day of taking care of your needs on June 1st as Venus forms a sextile to Ceres and Mars forms a quincunx to Saturn later in the day. When Venus forms the sextile to Ceres, you feel as if you want to take care of all those special needs in your life. You want to create a relaxing environment. You want to share time with special friends. You want to surround yourself with beauty.
As Mars forms the quincunx to Saturn you’re glad that you spent time with special individuals in your life. You didn’t have to worry about who would try to tell you what to do. Or, you didn’t need to stand up for your rights because you realized that you had supportive people around. Usually when Mars forms the quincunx to Saturn you find yourself on guard. But the good news is that today you didn’t have to.
There’s this relaxed sense of being on June 2nd when Venus forms a trine to Neptune. You don’t feel like doing anything. Instead you want to focus on the beauty around you. As a matter of fact, if you could float, you would. True, it’s not easy to focus on anything which requires critical thinking. And, perhaps somedays, like today, that’s a good thing. You don’t always need to be rushing through life in order to achieve your goals. Sometimes, if you relax, slow down, and just let thoughts float up to the surface, you actually achieve a lot more than those days when you ponder and try to force things to happen.
On June 3rd you feel a bit differently as the full Moon occurs. With the Sun in Gemini and the Moon in Sagittarius you’re excited to move on with your life. You want to share your plans with others. You see possibilities in everything. Emotionally you would love to travel if you could. You’d like to see what other people have to offer. On a more intimate level, you want to meet with friends and discuss various concepts with them. As a matter of fact, today is a very good day for re-evaluating some of your plans. And, if you need to make changes this is a good time. You may even find that your friends are willing to help you.
June 4th could be a day of excitement as Mercury forms a conjunction to Uranus. There’s always something unexpected when Mercury forms a conjunction to Uranus. You may finally get the news you’ve been waiting to hear. You may run into some friends you haven’t seen in a while. Or, you may discover some truth that’s been hidden from you. It is difficult to keep secrets when Mercury forms a conjunction to Uranus because people like to talk so much. As a matter of fact, you may get some new information which causes you to re-evaluate your attitude about something to the point that you change your perspective. The only thing…sometimes so much information is coming your way that it interferes with your ability to concentrate. It’s very important for you not to let that happen because you don’t want to end up getting into an accident because you weren’t paying attention.
Venus enters the sign of Leo on June 5th and a few hours later forms an opposition to Pluto retrograde. When Venus enters the sign of Leo, you feel generous. You see the possibilities that life has to offer. For this reason, you want to take care of others. You want to let them know how important they are in your life. And, you want to make certain that they know how valuable they are. Also, it’s just as important for you to feel appreciated as well.
As Venus moves into the opposition to Pluto a few hours later, you become more cautious in your statements of appreciation. You don’t want people taking advantage of your good nature. But that’s all right. Your friends understand because they feel the same way.
Don’t be at all surprised that people from your past come back into your life on June 8th as Venus forms a square to the Moon’s Nodal Axis. Or, if it’s not the actual individual, it could be reminders of that person. What happens when Venus forms a square to the Moon’s Nodal Axis unfinished business can surface. And, in this case with Venus in Leo, the Moon’s North Node in Taurus and the Moon’s South Node in Scorpio, the unfinished business focuses on relationships. It’s possible that you never experienced closure with the person. You may have left the relationship in anger. Or, the other person may have left you and never told you why. But today you can resolve any questions regarding the relationship. It’s a good day to let go of any anger or negative energy surrounding relationships.
June 9th is a day of contemplation as Mercury forms a trine to Ceres and a sextile to Neptune a few hours later.
When Mercury forms a trine to Ceres, you want to review the way you manage your life. This means you want to understand why you have some daily routines. Or, you want to make certain that you are creating a space which brings comfort into your life. You don’t want to do anything which puts you at risk.
As Mercury moves into the sextile to Neptune, you start thinking about some of your aspirations: Are you meeting your goals? Are you living your dreams? While some of your dreams may seem a bit unrealistic, this is a good time to find if there are some ways you can make those dreams real. Perhaps with a few changes in your approach you can take those dreams and create a realistic plan to implement them.
It’s actually a good thing that Ceres forms an opposition on June 10th, the day after Mercury forms the sextile to Neptune. The reason is that Ceres, especially in Virgo, demands you pay attention to your needs. It also indicates the importance of staying safe and avoiding risks. You want a space where you can think about your dreams. But you don’t want to be so blinded by your dreams that you walk off the cliff of reality. As you meditate on your dreams, you will realize which ones can be implemented in a realistic fashion and which ones need to be released and let go.
You may want to make a note of the date of June 11th. This is when Pluto retrograde re-enters the sign of Capricorn; Mercury in Taurus forms a trine to Pluto retrograde after it enters the sign of Capricorn; Mercury leaves the sign of Taurus and enters the sign of Gemini; and Venus forms a square to Jupiter which is in the sign of Taurus. What you may feel on the energetic plane is a step back in time. Or, if you don’t feel this energy as a step back in time, you will feel it as a time period to review your values and determine whether you need to make some changes in your life or correct some past actions so you can move forward.
With Pluto retrograde re-entering the sign of Capricorn, you may feel as if you’re stepping back in time. Pluto originally entered the sign of Capricorn on January 26, 2008. At that time it represented a major paradigm shift in both local and global governance. It also represented a shift in technology, communications, and financial structures. As these changes started to take hold, Pluto continued it’s journey and entered the sign of Aquarius in March 2023 to give us a hint of the next major paradigm shifts that we’ll experience in 2024 and beyond. But, its initial foray into the sign of Aquarius was brief because when an outer planet, that moves slowly, indicates changes, the planet also returns once or twice to the previous sign. On a spiritual level it returns to the previous sign, in this case Capricorn, to either correct errors made or solidify actions taken. For this reason, until Pluto re-enters the sign of Aquarius again on January 21, 2024 and again on November 11, 2024, you’ll feel or see history repeating itself.
When Pluto is in Capricorn, you want to find your place in the world. You want to be respected. You may decide it’s time to get more involved with your community, either through political actions or volunteer opportunities. You may also decide it’s time to voice your opinions. You may also decide that you need to do everything to make certain you are heard. Yet, there still is that danger, as you’ve seen and perhaps experienced, of increased polarization because often people don’t like to compromise when Pluto is in Capricorn.
Financially, institutions change. You’ve seen that with cryptocurrency. As more individuals got involved in investments, more problems occurred. You wanted to participate in increased financial security but you also saw that not all new financial systems provided this security. So, during this time period that Pluto is in Capricorn it’s time to review your investment strategy or your financial approach.
Pluto in Capricorn also represents infrastructure. Infrastructure can be represented by the technological changes which are occurring as well as the earth changes occurring. One of the areas you’ll see under review with Pluto in Capricorn at this time is how to approach the increased use of technology where more trace elements, such as lithium, are required, as well as the cost to these requirements. You may find that you are reviewing how you want to create an infrastructure in your life that enables you to feel safer without also putting you into financial difficulty.
With Mercury forming the trine to Pluto retrograde, you find that it’s important to discuss your thoughts with people you love. You don’t want to go through these changes by yourself. You want and need support, just as much as they need support. You may not understand everything today, but you try. And, you may not be able to communicate all your thoughts, but at least you begin to communicate. That’s the most important aspect of this situation.
When Mercury enters the sign of Gemini you find that it’s easier to communicate your needs with others than you thought. You’re able to get your thoughts together. While there’s a lot to be said, you realize that you also have to slow down so you can listen to others. You want to take time to build and improve your relationships.
Building and improving your relationships becomes more important as Venus forms the square to Jupiter. While you started the day reviewing the direction of your life, you don’t want to be stuck in just reviewing situations. You want to come up with plans. More importantly, you want to move forward with those plans. And, with Venus involved you don’t want to move forward on your own. You want other people to be there, on your journey, in your life. Even though this aspect is a square, it’s still a good time to reach out and let people know you need their help and support. Also, be sure to let them know you are also willing to reciprocate.
You may feel frustrated either in your relationships with others or in your own handling of your finances when Venus forms a quincunx to Saturn on June 13th. It’s one of those days where you struggle with the rules either you or others established in your life. Perhaps the old way of doing things isn’t working anymore. Or, you may feel that other people are judging you harshly even though you haven’t done anything wrong. It’s important that you are very gentle with yourself today. Try to realize that you’re doing the best you can. Also try to understand that with so much changing in life, the old rules may not work.
When Mercury forms a square to Saturn on June 15th, you find that either you are being too harsh on yourself or, you are judging others too harshly. This is where it may be wise to think before you speak. You may not be seeing the positive in situations. On the other hand, because you are viewing situations from a critical state of mind, you may see problems before they manifest. If that’s the case, pay attention. You may be able to prevent something negative from happening.
Saturn turns retrograde on June 17th and you may feel your energy slowing down. That’s actually not uncommon when Saturn turns retrograde. It will be retrograde until November 4, 2023
Saturn entered the sign of Pisces on March 7, 2023. It’s not necessarily comfortable in the sign of Pisces because Saturn likes rules and Pisces doesn’t. Pisces would rather dissolve boundaries. Pisces is also represented by two fish, swimming in opposite directions, tied together. So, when Saturn is retrograde in Pisces, you may need to review those areas of your life where you feel that you’re being pulled in two different directions. You may also feel that it’s time to set some boundaries that prevent you from being pulled apart. In that way, this retrograde motion of Saturn can be very beneficial.
On a mundane level, this retrograde motion of Saturn might also bring up some old legislation. It’s possible that some laws are changed or dissolved. It’s also possible that you need to review some of the “rules” you created to live by.
When the new Moon occurs on June 18th you feel a bit confused. You may even feel that other people aren’t being honest with you. That’s because the Sun and Moon in Gemini form a square to Neptune at the time of this new Moon. You want to start something new. You want to make certain that you’re communicating your needs. But you feel that other people aren’t listening. Or, you feel as if they are withholding some important information you need in order to make a decision. Be cautious with any potential new ventures at this time. Normally starting something new at the time of a new Moon is a good thing: Just not this time. Rather this is a time for research and reflection. If you can do that, you’ll get the information you need over the next week.
With Jupiter forming a sextile to Saturn retrograde on June 19th, you feel as if you can start some new ventures. With Jupiter in Taurus you have the opportunity to find ways to implement what you value when it comes to your goals. With Saturn in Pisces you have the opportunity to define your dreams so you know how to pursue them. Basically, this is a good time for you to list your dreams as they relate to your ethics. Create a plan to achieve those dreams which is realistic. And, write down your goals in a sequential manner so you can achieve your dreams. Basically, name the goals and create the milestones (dates) of when you want to achieve those goals.
Before Ceres enters the sign of Libra tomorrow, it forms a trine to Pluto retrograde on June 20th. With Ceres in Virgo you realize just how important it is to completes matters. You don’t want to leave things hanging. You want to make certain that all the details are taken care of. The good news is that when Ceres is in Virgo you find it easier to complete things. You just have this sense of the easiest way to do things.
June 21st is the day of the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. But before the solstice occurs, Ceres enters the sign of Libra. With Ceres in Libra relationships are very important. You don’t want to hurt anyone else’s feelings. And, if necessary, you want to take care of them. Still, you need to be cautious. There’s a tendency to put the other person first to the point that you forget to take care of your needs. The key to successful relationships is to find that balance between your needs and their needs.
Ceres plays an important part in the chart of the solstice. Because Ceres is now in Libra, the Sun in Cancer will form a square to Ceres. Whether you call this the summer solstice because you live in the Northern Hemisphere or the winter solstice because you live in the Southern Hemisphere, this solstice represent the ending of the first quarter of the astrological year. It represents the point where you assess your goals over the last three months so you can determine if you’re on the right track or if you need to make some changes in your life. You may feel tension in your relationships since the Sun will be forming a square to Ceres. Or, you may feel that you need to make changes in your environment and don’t know quite where to begin. In actuality, this solstice is a period of growth from the seeds you planted in March. It’s not quite time to make serious changes. Rather it’s the time to determine what needs to be nurtured so better growth can occur.
With the Sun just moving away from a quincunx to Pluto retrograde in this chart, you’ll find that old fears may be nagging at your conscious mind. For this reason, you’ll find that you can bring up some of those fears and release them so you can move on with your life.
The Moon in this chart forms a square to Jupiter and is moving into a conjunction to Venus and Mars. Again, this indicates the importance of relationships in your life. One of the messages of this solstice is that you’ll be better at succeeding with your goals if you let other people know you need their support. And, you’ll also receive more support if you let them know you are there for them as well.
After the solstice occurs, Mercury forms a sextile to Chiron. You find that your approach is one coming from a center of healing. You don’t want to take advantage of anyone else. You want to make certain that when you communicate, others understand. Normally when Mercury is in Gemini you speak without thinking. You enjoy sharing trivial matters. You don’t really care whether other people are listening or not. You like the sound of your voice. But with Mercury forming the sextile to Chiron, you find yourself listening more. You want to hear what the other person is saying. You don’t want to take them for granted. You want them to know that they are appreciated.
It’s interesting that on June 22nd, the next day after Mercury forms a sextile to Chiron, Mars forms a trine to Chiron. Where yesterday you felt your words were important, today you feel your actions are important. Usually when Mars is in Leo you want to be the center of attention. You fly into situations, not always concerned about the consequences. But today it’s different. With Mars forming this trine to Chiron you want to make certain that your actions support others. You don’t want to take advantage of them. And, you want to praise them as much as they want to praise you.
Mercury forms a square to Neptune on June 25th, the day before it enters the sign of Cancer. As Mercury starts leaving the sign of Gemini and forms this square to Neptune, you realize you need to choose your words very carefully. What you say could be held against you. Also, other people may not be willing to tell you the truth. Even if you listen carefully, you may not be given all the facts. This is not a day to sign contracts. Something is being hidden from you.
Caution is a good word for June 26th. Mars forms a square to Uranus and Mercury, before it enters the sign of Cancer, forms a quincunx to Pluto retrograde.
You want to rush into situations when Mars forms a square to Uranus. And, with Mars in Leo, you want attention. This need to rush and this desire for attention is not necessarily a good combination. With Uranus, disruption is possible. The unexpected can happen. You may find yourself in an accident. This is not necessarily the situation that you want. Be very careful. Other people may try to flatter you. But if that happens it’s because they want you to disrupt something. They aren’t flattering you for your own good, just theirs.
With Mercury forming the quincunx to Pluto retrograde it’s easy to get frustrated. You may feel other people aren’t listening. Or, you may feel that they are trying to get some hold over you. Either way, trying to control the situation isn’t going to work. All it may do is create more frustration and anger. The best thing to do is just keep silent, listen to the other person, and try to remove yourself from the situation.
In many ways, it’s a good thing that Mercury enters the sign of Cancer. When it does, you start thinking of ways to de-escalate situations. If necessary, you’re willing to sidestep matters. You realize that you can walk away if that makes things easier.
On the day after Mercury enters the sign of Cancer, Mercury forms a square to Libra on June 27th. If you feel that your relationships aren’t going right, you want to talk about it. You don’t want to be taken for granted and you don’t want to take other people for granted. You want feedback when it comes to what you’re doing. You want to be part of a team. You don’t want to do anything on your own.
You continue your desire to heal other people with your show of concern on June 29th when Venus forms a trine to Chiron. Even though Venus is in the sign of Leo, you approach situations from a gentle point of view. You don’t push too much. You take time to praise others. You want to be thankful for people just being in your life.
Before Neptune turns retrograde on June 30th, Mercury forms a trine to Saturn. With Mercury forming the trine to Saturn, you’re able to focus on situations. You know how to choose your words carefully. You don’t let other people tell you what to think. If you need to make a presentation, you know how to do it in a way that others understand. You’re also able to listen very well. You hear the meaning behind the words. You understand what other people are trying to tell you.
Neptune, which turns retrograde after Mercury forms the trine to Saturn, will remain retrograde until December 6th. Sometimes you don’t even feel that Neptune is retrograde because Neptune, especially in Pisces, is such an introverted planet. You want to spend time with yourself. You don’t want to go out too much. You don’t want to take advantage of anyone and you don’t want anyone to take advantage of you. Yet during the time period that Neptune is retrograde, you may also be able to empathize with the needs of others just a bit more.
