When the month of July begins Saturn retrograde re-enters the sign of Capricorn on July 1st which indicates a very important shift of energies for the next several months. But before that occurs, Mercury retrograde forms a square to Chiron. This is the second time this square occurs in this triad sequence. The first time it occurred was on June 5th when both planets were direct. The last time this occurs is on July 21st when Mercury is direct and Chiron is retrograde.
With Mercury retrograde forming the square to Chiron, you need to continue to be cautious with information you receive. You may hear conflicting reports which can bring stress into your life. You also need to continue being careful with your computer due to potential viruses, as well as scams.
Because Mercury retrograde is in Cancer, you want to know what to do to remain safe. You don’t want to take any risks which could put you in harm’s way. While you know that businesses are reopening and people are beginning to socialize more, you don’t want to put your family or loved ones in jeopardy.
As Saturn retrograde re-enters the sign of Capricorn your thoughts turn to the last several months. Saturn initially entered the sign of Aquarius on March 21, 2020. When it entered the sign of Aquarius many states were beginning to issue stay-at-home orders. As a matter of fact, Governor Gavin Newsom of California was the first governor to set mandatory orders on March 19th, just before Saturn entered the sign of Aquarius. For many people in the United States other rules followed: Some states issued orders mandating that face masks be worn in public spaces; shopping markets created one way aisles to decrease contact, and more television programs utilized social media tools rather than in-studio taping.
Saturn actually wasn’t in the sign of Aquarius for too long. When Saturn turned retrograde on May 11th, it only went up to 1º57’ of Aquarius. So during that short time period that Saturn was in Aquarius, you got a small taste of potential trends to come: Potential increased government surveillance; less use of cash and greater use of online services and digital currency; increased digital learning; greater calls for human equality, and so much more.
But for now, the return of Saturn to the sign of Capricorn means that it’s time to revisit some of the situations which occurred between December 19, 2017 and March 21, 2020 when Saturn was originally in Capricorn. This need to review and perhaps even re-evaluate situations over the last few years will continue until December 17, 2020 when Saturn re-enters the sign of Aquarius and stays in the sign for approximately 2.5 years.
With Saturn retrograde re-entering the sign of Capricorn, there is a desire to “make it real.” You want to take your place in society. You want a firm foundation which enables you to bring success into your life. And you want to tear down those barriers which prevent you from getting what you deserve. But this desire to tear down barriers to increase your opportunities can also lead to push-back from people who believe that will change the status quo as they know it. When Saturn was in Capricorn earlier it led to increased polarization between different factions. But Saturn in Capricorn is also about developing rules and regulations which benefit various members of society, not just a few. So, during the next several months, opportunities to do that will present themselves.
On a personal level, when Saturn retrograde re-enters the sign of Capricorn, you want to take a look at your own personal foundations. Do you feel that you have a safe environment for you and your loved ones? Do you know what you need to do to succeed? Are there changes that you need to make in how you approach your daily life? If there are changes to be made in your life, this will be a good time to start those changes. While you won’t be able to make all those changes right away, today is a good day to reflect on your life and perhaps even make a note of what you want to do to begin making those changes.
The Penumbral (Appulse) Lunar Eclipse which occurs on July 4th, is the fourth eclipse of the year and the third lunar eclipse of the year. It occurs at the time of the full Moon when the Sun is in Cancer and the Moon is in Capricorn. This eclipse will be visible here in the United States as well as all the Americas, Southwestern Europe, and Africa. It is part of the Saros 149 cycle.
During the time period of the full Moon you usually want to release situations which no longer seem to apply in your life. And, with the Sun in Cancer and the Moon in Capricorn, many of the situations which no longer seem to apply focus on work and family; especially finding a balance between the two. Usually eclipses tend to obscure matters, but you won’t find that happening this time because the Sun forms a sextile to Uranus and the Moon forms a trine to Uranus. This means that you’ll start receiving new information which helps you decide what changes you need to make in your life. This eclipse also indicates that you want to communicate your concerns for safety with people you love. In a lot of ways, you’ll be able to discuss your fears with people who are important to you. You’ll be able to reach out and ask for help. You won’t feel bad at all if you don’t have all the answers.
When Ceres in Pisces turns retrograde on July 7th, you feel more compassion for others. You want to help people. You don’t want to turn your back on others. You know there is a lot in the world that you need to do and you’re willing to do it. Ceres will re-enter the sign of Aquarius in retrograde motion on September 27th and finally turn direct on October 18th.
On July 10th, the day before Chiron turns retrograde, Venus forms a sextile to Chiron. With Venus in the sign of Gemini, you feel as if you can heal through communicating with other people. You’re open to listening to their ideas as well. This is a good day to move on with your life because you don’t need to let pain from relationships stand in your way anymore. You and the other person can bring healing to each other.
When Chiron turns retrograde on July 11th, you continue to feel the urge to bring healing into your life. You look at ways in which you might sabotage yourself and determine how to make changes so that no longer happens. While you want to do everything on your own, you also realize that you may need some help. Chiron will remain retrograde until December 15th.
On July 12th, Mercury in Cancer turns direct. It went retrograde on June 18th. During the time period Mercury was retrograde, you became very introspective because Mercury is in the sign of Cancer. You didn’t want to share your thoughts with anyone.
But now that Mercury is direct, you feel differently. You want to share your concerns with loved ones. You don’t want to take on the world by yourself. There’s a lot that you figured out over the last three weeks and the biggest thing was how important your loved ones are.
Safety still continues to be important. You still don’t want to take any risks. But now you know what you need to do in order to stay safe.
When it comes to rumors, you’re now able to sort them out. It’s easier to find out the facts that you were missing. You feel more confident about your life.
On July 14th, when Mars forms a conjunction to Chiron retrograde, you’re willing to do what it takes to bring healing into your life. You don’t mind standing up for your rights. At the same time you understand how important it is for other people to stand up for their rights.
You may feel a little insecure on July 16th when Venus forms a square to Ceres retrograde. When Ceres is in Pisces, you want to help other people. With Venus in Gemini you feel that the only way to help others is to talk to them about their problems. Yet, they don’t want to have that conversation with you. They want to maintain their silence. You also may not want to talk to others about what bothers you intimately. So, you feel this tension. You want to help, but others don’t want your help. Or, others may want to help you and you don’t want their help.
The new Moon with Sun and Moon in Cancer that occurs on July 20th forms an opposition to the Jupiter retrograde, Pluto retrograde, and Saturn retrograde conjunction. It’s also important to note that the New Moon is just minutes away from an exact opposition to Saturn retrograde. This is a day where you need to be cautious. You want to move on with your life. You don’t want anyone to tell you what to do. You feel frustrated that all the safety you felt earlier is slipping away.
Move cautiously today. While you may feel that it’s a day to begin something new, it’s actually a day to rid yourself of obstacles. Take time to determine what’s important to you. While you don’t want others to tell you what to do, take time to listen to them. They may have some good advice for you to consider.
When Mercury forms a square to Chiron retrograde on July 21st, this is the last time this square occurs in this triad sequence. The first time it occurred was on June 5th when both Mercury and Chiron were direct. The second time it occurred was on July 1st when Mercury was retrograde and Chiron was direct. Also, the second time this square occurred was just before Saturn retrograde re-entered the sign of Capricorn.
Each time that Mercury forms a square to Chiron, whether in direct or retrograde motion, you need to be careful with the information you hear. You don’t want to add more stress to your life because a lot of that information is conflicting. You also still need to be careful not to fall for any scams which are out there.
At least, because this is the last time this aspect occurs in this triad sequence, you’ll be able to start discerning fact from fiction. You’ll realize that you don’t need to be sucked into any rumors. You’ll be able to protect both yourself and those you love.
On July 22nd, the Sun enters the sign of Leo and Mercury forms a sextile to Uranus. Normally when the Sun enters the sign of Leo, you just want to relax and not do too much of anything. You want to see what’s going on in the world but more from a perspective of observation than participation.
But with Mercury forming a sextile to Uranus you get unexpected information and feel the need to act on it. Or, you may finally learn the truth about what you heard in early June. The reason is that this is the third time that this aspect occurs in this triad sequence. The first time it occurred was on June 5th when both plants were direct and just before the Penumbral Lunar Eclipse. The second time it occurred was on June 30th not that long after Jupiter retrograde and Pluto retrograde formed a conjunction. At that time Mercury was retrograde and Uranus was direct.
Not only is it important to pay attention to any new news you receive today, but it’s also important to think back to the start of June and the information you received at that time. More truth will be revealed. You’ll be able to develop plans that increase both your safety and the safety of your loved ones. You’ll even receive more support from strangers in your life. Perhaps this means that more people are willing to come together and there is less disagreement between groups in the world.
The last of the Mercury triads occurs on July 24th when Mercury forms a trine to Ceres retrograde. The first time this aspect occurred was on June 7th when both Mercury and Ceres were direct. The second time this aspect occurred was on June 26th when Mercury was retrograde and Ceres was direct.
You feel passionate about your life and the people you love. You want to create a safe environment. You’re now looking at different ways to do that. You also have increase compassion for others. You’re sensitive to their needs. You may have developed some ideas in early June on how to create your safe environment. But you still didn’t have all those thoughts developed. Now you know what to do and where to get help as you proceed.
On July 27th Jupiter retrograde forms the sextile to Neptune retrograde while Venus forms a quincunx to Jupiter retrograde and a square to Neptune later in the day.
When Jupiter retrograde forms a sextile to Neptune, this is the second time this sextile occurs in this triad sequence. The first time it occurred was on February 20th when both Jupiter and Neptune were direct. The last time it occurs is on October 12th when Jupiter is direct and Neptune is still retrograde.
Both Jupiter and Neptune rule the sign of Pisces, indicating that they have a symbiotic relationship. Where Jupiter represents your desire to push boundaries, Neptune represents your need to dissolve boundaries. You don’t want to be controlled by anyone. But the boundaries that you want to push as a result of Jupiter are different than the boundaries represented by Neptune. With Jupiter you want to learn how to find your place in the world, but by your definitions. With Neptune you want to move away from daily events to live in your own fantasies.
When Jupiter and Neptune form a sextile, you usually find unnecessary structures being removed so you can leap into new experiences and learn more about the world around you. But, with the pandemic, this aspect now represents how new and unexpected circumstances are changing the boundaries you thought were an integral part of society. Instead of having the freedom to roam, you were asked to stay-at-home. Instead of hugging people you love, you were required to move away and create more social distancing.
Now that this sextile is occurring for the second time, many of the stay-at-home restrictions are being lifted. More businesses are opening. More people are going back to work. But you don’t really know what the new boundaries are. You may be frightened to go back into the world. While you want to leap into new experiences, you may decide that you have more personal responsibilities which require you to stay put. Because there is still one more time this aspect occurs, you may want to take your “re-entry” into the world more slowly.
In the greater world, you will see some structures dissolve before your eyes. Rules that you thought governed society may no longer apply. You may even see greater technological advances, especially in the areas of wave technology, cloud computing, and quantum physics. Just keep an open mind.
After Jupiter retrograde forms the sextile to Neptune, Venus comes along and forms a quincunx to Jupiter retrograde. This means that you need to adjust some of your points of view. You may feel that with all the rules dissolving around you, you don’t know what to believe. You may also feel that other people aren’t supporting your values. You want to move into the future, but you don’t want to lose your own sense of well-being. Nor do you want your value systems upset.
Thirty minutes after Venus forms the quincunx to Jupiter retrograde, Venus forms a square to Neptune retrograde. This confirms that you aren’t comfortable with some of the barriers that have been removed in life. You don’t know where you stand. You aren’t certain that your value systems are being supported by others. You’re not sure what to do. The key is to be very careful with your relationships right now. Don’t make any commitments. Take a wait and see approach. Move slowly into the world until you have a better understanding of how any changes may impact you.
As the month starts drawing to a close, Mercury forms an opposition to Jupiter retrograde and a trine to Neptune retrograde while Venus forms a quincunx to Pluto retrograde on July 30th.
When Mercury forms the opposition to Jupiter retrograde you want to push your way back into the world. You don’t want other people to tell you what to do. At the same time, you don’t want to take risks that put your loved ones in jeopardy.
As Mercury forms the trine to Neptune retrograde a few hours later, you realize that it’s a good thing to be cautious. You don’t have all the facts. Yet, your sense of intuition is elevated. You know that you don’t want other people to take advantage of you. And, you’re still grappling with trying to get all the facts while not giving away too much private information about yourself or your loved one.
As Venus forms the quincunx to Pluto retrograde, you realize just how important it is to maintain your privacy and not let other people tell you what to do. This is a day for listening rather than speaking. This is a day to gather information so you can make the right decisions as you venture out into the world.
