June 2018: Pause Before Taking Action
By Misty Kuceris ©2018
The month of June 2018 is one where you’ll experience some incredibly positive energies co-mingled with frustration and pause. This is a time for reflection and re-evaluation. While you may find it difficult to move forward with new plans, you’ll also realize that you may need to make changes to some old plans if you want to bring more success into your life. Part of this is understanding the energy of Mars retrograde which will occur later this month. Part of this is understanding the importance of being true to your nature.
As the month begins, Venus forms a trine to Jupiter retrograde on June 1st. With Venus and Jupiter retrograde both in water signs, you feel optimistic about your emotions and what you can achieve. You feel very passionate about your goals. You want to share your success with people you love. And, you know that you’ll receive support from others. This is not only a good day, but the start of a water grand trine that continues into tomorrow when Venus forms a trine to Neptune.
As Venus forms a trine to Neptune on June 2nd you may feel as if you’re able to meet your soulmate. Or, perhaps more importantly, you feel as if you understand the depths of your own soul needs. Compassion helps you create a loving foundation as you relate to other people in your life. You’re willing to accept what other people have to say and see the best in them. You’re also able to see the best in yourself.
Just be a little careful since Neptune is involved. Sometimes you see what you want to see rather than the reality of what’s there. If you do meet someone today take time to know the other person so you’ll see who that person really is.
If you need to make a major purchase, try to put that off for another day so you can understand all the facts and make a logical, not emotional decision.
When Mercury forms a quincunx to Saturn retrograde a few hours later on June 2nd, you’ll be able to see situations from a better perspective. Some of the facts you thought you knew earlier in the day aren’t quite the reality of the situation. People may start changing their stories. But accept the situation for what it is: The Universe’s way of helping you get at the truth.
Changes in information you receive with continue on June 3rd through June 5th as Ceres forms a quincunx to Pluto retrograde on June 3rd and Mercury forms a quincunx to Jupiter retrograde on June 5th.
When Ceres and Pluto retrograde are involved in an aspect, it’s almost as if there’s a dance between the importance of finding a compromise and the desire to take what you view as yours and just move on with your life. A good way to utilize this aspect in your life is to dig deep into your subconscious mind and understand what motivates you. When you understand this motivation, take a look at how you approach situations in your life. You may find that you need to compromise on some of your attitudes. Or, you may need to even change how you approach situations if you feel that you are motivated by fear.
When Mercury and Jupiter retrograde are involved in an aspect, your mind vacillates. With Mercury you want to know all the small details in your life, even if those details aren’t important. With Jupiter retrograde you want to look at the big picture, even if it means that you miss out on some of the important details. You may even feel frustrated that you can’t move on with the big picture because the details are getting in the way. Perhaps you want to start a new project, but you don’t know where to begin. Or, perhaps you feel as if you need to finish up on some small details before you can start on that larger project. As much as you may want to start the new project, you need to complete the small details from some older projects.
What may help you is the opposition that Venus makes to Pluto retrograde a few hours later on June 5th. As you started delving into your subconscious motivations on June 3rd when Ceres formed the quincunx to Pluto retrograde, you may have found that you doubted your value systems. Or perhaps you felt that by compromising you were giving up too much of yourself. Today, with Venus forming the opposition to Pluto retrograde, you understand that what you need to give up is not your value system but those old belief systems that are preventing you from feeling self-love. If you can release the negative old beliefs, you’ll find that today becomes a very powerful day for you.
As Mercury forms a square to Neptune on June 6th, you may still feel a little confusion about the information that you are receiving. Be gentle with yourself today. Understand that you may not be able to find a way to make your dreams realistic yet. Realize that you still need more information. Take care when you speak to other people. They may not be lying to you, but they may be deceiving you through withholding important information. And, once again, this is not a day to sign any contracts because you don’t have all the facts.
On June 8th, Mars forms a conjunction to the Moon’s South Node and Mercury forms a quincunx to Pluto retrograde.
Normally when Mars forms a conjunction to the Moon’s South Node you may feel the need to take care of old problems so you can move on with your life. This time, however, it will be a little different. Mars will form a conjunction to the Moon’s South Node three times in what I call a triad sequence. The first time this occurs is today, on June 8th. The second time that it will occur is on July 20, 2018 when Mars is in retrograde motion. The third time this conjunction occurs will be on September 26, 2018 when Mars is once again direct. The other reason that this conjunction is so important is that the Moon’s South Node is in Aquarius, the same place that the Moon’s South Node is located in the July 4, 1776 chart of the United States.
If you consider what Mars represents in a mundane (political) chart, you’ll find that Mars represents military actions as well as people who serve the public, such as police officers and health care professionals. Aquarius in a mundane chart represents our allies as well as social organizations which are intended to serve the general public and the diversity of a nation. There are also some who believe that Aquarius represents members of Congress.
In mundane astrology, the Moon’s South Node represents what a country needs to address but is avoiding. It also represents the fears that a leader may use to try to maintain or increase his or her power. With the Moon’s South Node in Aquarius the United States government needs to address its relationships with allies, immigrants, and other social situations which can increase our diversity as a nation. Even if a country is not experiencing its 19-year nodal return as the United States is this year, these are still areas which countries need to address. In the United States, however, these could become flashpoints if fear is used to either make changes or maintain the status quo.
Pay attention to the news during this time period to understand which of these issues rise to the surface. When this conjunction occurs again in July, there will be situations occurring behind the scenes because Mars is retrograde. If possible try to keep informed. By the time this conjunction occurs for the third time in September 2018, Mars will once again be direct and you’ll see some of the results of the information you received today.
In many ways, this also translates into your personal life. Review your friendships to see if they are based on mutual understanding and respect. Consider which social organizations are still valuable to you and determine if you are spending enough time with family and friends or if you are spending too much time with volunteer organizations to the point that you are losing contact with important people in your life. It’s important to consider past actions and determine if you want to continue on that path or if you want to make changes to your path. You may not be ready to make those changes quite yet, but you will be in September 2018 when this conjunction occurs for the third time.
Mercury forming a quincunx to Pluto retrograde later in the day will actually help you as you evaluate your relationships with others, especially those involved in social organizations. You’ll be able to delve into your subconscious mind and start thinking about any emotional motivations which govern your choices. You’ll find that you don’t want to be controlled by others. Rather you want to find a way to empower yourself without giving up who you are.
You may find situations shifting on June 9th as Mercury forms a sextile to Ceres. You may be able to determine if you need to compromise on important matters in order to achieve your goals. Or, you may decide that you need to get more information about your environment so you can move forward in safety.
As Mercury enters the sign of Cancer on June 12th, you find that you’re holding back when you communicate with others. You don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. At the same time you don’t want to reveal too much. Even others are feeling the same way. People may give you hints but they may not tell you what they really think.
June 13th, is the day of the new Moon with Sun and Moon in Gemini. Before the new Moon occurs, Mercury forms a sextile to Uranus. After the new Moon occurs, Mercury forms a square to Chiron and Venus enters the sign of Leo.
With Mercury forming a sextile to Uranus, you’re open to new ideas. You’re willing to discuss important matters with others. You want to find a way to work with other people, especially creating joint ventures.
As the new Moon occurs, this desire to be open to new ideas continues. At the same time, you feel very cautious. You want to discuss matters with other people because this new Moon is in Gemini. But the new Moon also forms a quincunx to Pluto retrograde so you don’t want others to take advantage of you. And, with Mercury (the ruler of Gemini) in Cancer, you may find it difficult to be direct. You don’t want to alienate others. This desire not to alienate others is stronger today because Mercury will form a square to Chiron less than two hours after the new Moon occurs. The best way to use the energy of this new Moon is to gather as much information as possible. Take the new information that you receive and add that information to your thought process. Listen to what other people have to say without making any commitments. Even though this is a new Moon you don’t have to start any new actions today. Instead process the information you have.
With Venus entering the sign of Leo after the new Moon occurs, you’ll understand just how valuable the information you received is. You’ll appreciate what you know. You’ll be able to use it when the time is right.
When Venus forms a square to Uranus on June 14th, don’t be surprised if someone from your past comes back into your life. If this happens, you may be able to release any old anger or frustration. You may find that you can finally move forward and not let any negativity from that old relationship stand in your way.
At the same time, you may feel tension as you try to express your needs. You may not feel comfortable telling others what you want. Or, you may decide that it’s time to end old relationships which don’t give you the emotional support you need.
You’ll find that it’s easier to heal from old relationships on June 15th as Venus forms a trine to Chiron and Mercury forms an opposition to Saturn retrograde.
As Venus forms the trine to Chiron, you’ll know what you need in life to move forward and enjoy your world. You’re able to think about the positive circumstances and appreciate the support that positive people give you.
As Mercury forms the opposition to Saturn retrograde, you realize that you can let go of criticisms which others have leveled against you in the past. You don’t need to take yourself so seriously that you prevent yourself from having fun. You also are able to let go of those artificial boundaries which prevent you from doing what you want.
Neptune turns stationary retrograde on June 18th. It will be retrograde until November 24, 2018. When Neptune turns retrograde not too many people notice. Neptune tends to work behind the scenes. Boundaries may be dissolved but not too much happens. What you may find is that you’re willing to take time and release some old phobias. Or, you may find you’re having more dreams which help you heal from past trauma.
As June 19th begins, Venus forms a quincunx to Saturn retrograde. Later in the day, Venus will form a conjunction to the Moon’s North Node and Mercury will form a trine to Jupiter retrograde.
With Venus forming a quincunx to Saturn, the day starts with feelings of frustration. You may be taking things too seriously. You’re not sure how to move forward with your feelings. You may even be highly critical because you feel frustrated for not being able to move forward.
But that feeling of frustration starts shifting as Venus forms a conjunction to the Moon’s North Node a few hours later. Now you feel as if you understand your goals. You have more confidence. Perhaps the earlier criticism which you were feeling is actually helping you decide how to create a better structure in your life so you can move forward. You may even run into people who are willing to help you succeed.
As Mercury forms a trine to Jupiter retrograde on June 19th, you have a better understanding of what you need. You feel very optimistic about your possibilities. With Jupiter retrograde you’re able to understand how your past experience makes you a better person and puts you into the right position to achieve your goals.
And, as Mercury forms the trine to Jupiter retrograde, it creates the energy of a water grand trine which will be completed when Mercury forms a trine to Neptune retrograde on June 20th.
As Mercury forms the trine to Neptune retrograde on June 20th, you realize that you can achieve your dreams if you pay attention to your goals. Since both Jupiter and Neptune represent releasing barriers, you’ll understand just what obstacles need to be removed in order to move forward with your life.
Be careful in one area: Keep your most important plans to yourself. You don’t want to give so much information away that other people start questioning your decisions and telling you how difficult it might be to succeed. These individuals may not have your best interests in mind.
The Sun enters the sign of Cancer on June 21st and the Summer Solstice starts in the Northern Hemisphere. The astrological year is now entering its second quarter. As with the first quarter, when the Sun entered Aries, the Ascendant for the chart set up in the United States is Cancer. This time the Sun is conjunct the Ascendant but in the twelfth house. This means that there are hidden situations occurring with the government that the public doesn’t know. As with the Aries ingress chart, Neptune, this time in retrograde motion, is conjunct the Midheaven. Again, there are things going under the surface that people don’t know and the government doesn’t want to discuss.
With the Sun forming an ingress into Cancer, you want to look at your home and make certain that everything is safe and secure. You need to pay attention to your family. You may find that you really don’t want to go out into the world but would rather stay home and enjoy your private moments.
If you let other people prevent you from moving forward with your dreams on June 20th, you’ll feel very frustrated as Mercury forms an opposition to Pluto retrograde on June 23rd. You may find that people are trying to suppress your ideas. Or, you may feel as if other people are trying to manipulate you into their way of thinking. The key is to stay true to your ideals.
When Venus forms a square to Jupiter retrograde on June 25th life can go either way. If you understand your goals and how you can achieve them, you’ll find a lot of success today. If, however, you don’t trust yourself, you’ll feel frustrated that life doesn’t seem to be going in the direction you want. The key is to take charge of your life and not be swayed by insecurities. Understand you goals and realize that it might take a little longer to achieve them.
Approximately every two years, Mars turns retrograde for about eight weeks. Mars will turn retrograde on June 26th. It will remain retrograde until August 27th.
When Mars is retrograde it’s more difficult to find the energy to do things. This is especially true with Mars in Aquarius. Normally you want to be involved either with your friends or some sort of social organization. Now you would rather pull back from too many external activities and keep to yourself. This is a great time to rest so you can recharge your energy.
The other thing about Mars retrograde is that things don’t seem to happen. You feel as if your energy is low. But there are situations bubbling under the surface. Pay attention to these “bubbles.” Take care not to get angry or frustrated because if you do, you’ll suddenly experience a lot of anger after Mars goes direct on August 27, 2018. The best way to use this energy is to pay attention to your frustrations and see what you can do to alleviate them. Reach out to people in your life so you don’t have to do things alone. Maintain important relationships and realize that you have people in your life who are willing to support your needs.
When Venus forms a quincunx to Neptune retrograde on June 27th, you need to be very careful around other people. They may appear to be sympathetic to your needs, but they aren’t giving you all the information that you need to make decisions. The most important thing is not to sign any contracts which involve a high financial commitment.
On June 28th, the full Moon occurs and Ceres enters the sign of Virgo later in the day. This is a day where you need to understand how your work impacts your relationships, especially with family members. With the Sun in Cancer and Moon in Capricorn, you want to spend more time with your family. Since the Sun forms an opposition to Saturn retrograde and the Moon forms a conjunction to Saturn retrograde, you may find that you resent any responsibilities which take time away from your family. You don’t want to spend so much time at work that you don’t have time to relax.
As Ceres enters the sign of Virgo you realize that even routine tasks may take time away from your family. This is a good day to find ways to either delegate tasks to others or decide which tasks aren’t as important as you thought they were. You’ll even find ways to be more efficient which gives you that extra time you need.
Mercury enters the sign of Leo on June 29th, the day after the full Moon occurs. Now is the time to go out and have fun. You don’t need to take life so seriously. As with yesterday, you resent any time spent at work instead of spending it with family or friends. And this is especially true since Mercury will be forming a square to Uranus tomorrow. Just be careful with the news. There may be some unexpected information which prevents you from enjoying your time off.
As the month of June ends, Mercury forms a square to Uranus and a trine to Chiron on June 30th. You may want to discuss matters with others. You may want to be open to new ideas, but information is flowing too quickly and frustrating you. Do the best you can to discern which information is important and which information is unnecessary. Don’t let other people keep dumping their “stuff” on you. Find ways to slow down the information so you don’t feel an overload. Also, take care when you’re driving because other people may not be focused. This could be a day of accidents.
It helps that Mercury forms a trine to Chiron later in the day. This will help you protect yourself from too much information which came through earlier in the day. You’ll be able to guard your words and not let other people try to convince you otherwise. You’ll also find ways to bring healing into your life.
