March 2023 – Finding the Right Path

By Misty Kuceris ©2023

There are some time periods in life where so much is going on that you don’t know what to expect. You sense there are some major paradigm shifts just about to occur. You feel as if you need to move forward with your life but at the same time you wonder if there aren’t projects to complete. Then you wonder if you’re not seeing clues all around you of what to expect. Or, are these hints just shadows that lurk in the background making you wonder if you’re on the right track with your life.

As the month of March begins, Venus forms a conjunction to Jupiter, Mercury forms a conjunction to Saturn and Mercury enters the sign of Pisces all on March 2nd.

You feel optimistic about your life when Venus forms a conjunction to Jupiter. With both planets in Aries you feel that you can achieve anything. You’re excited about life and experiencing new adventures. While people are important, you also don’t want to be hampered by negativity. Instead, you want to see the best there is in all situations.

As Mercury forms the conjunction to Saturn, you realize that people still need to understand where you stand. They want to know if you are willing to make commitments to them. They also want to know what’s important to you. In understanding this, they can determine whether or not they are willing to make commitments to you.

Yet, as Mercury enters the sign of Pisces, they may start having some questions about your commitments. And, you may also wonder if you overstated your ability to be there for others. With Mercury in Pisces, you want to follow your dreams. While you may not want to hurt the feelings of others, you still don’t want them to tell you what to do. You may even feel a little conflicted about your relationships if you believe people aren’t supporting your dreams.

It becomes easier to maintain your individuality on March 3rd as Venus forms a conjunction to Chiron. You aren’t willing to put yourself into a position where you lose who you are as you try to please others. You don’t want to injure yourself in that way. Rather, you look at what’s important to you so you can move forward in developing healthy relationships.

Communications may not be that easy today on March 5th when Mercury forms a quincunx to Ceres retrograde. You question some of the compromises you made over the last few days, or even the last month. You want to make certain that other people heard what you said and that your needs are being meant. At the same time, you want to hear what other people are saying. You want to understand their needs. But this is one of those days where hearing each other may not be easy. With Ceres retrograde in Libra there’s something hidden when you communicate with others and you can’t get figure out what that is. It’s possible that both of you are trying too hard to be nice to each other to the point of ignoring your own needs. Or, it’s possible that neither of you are being honest with what you need from your relationship. If communications seem stifled today, you may be better off not discussing any important matters. It may be one of those days to just enjoy each other’s company without delving into anything substantial.

Less than one hour before Saturn enters the sign of Pisces, the full Moon, with the Sun in Pisces and the Moon in Virgo occurs on March 7th. Saturn entering a new sign is significant because it represents a paradigm shift that cycles back about every 29 years and lasts for about 2.5 years. Couple this shift into a new sign with a full Moon, and the significance increases, especially since the Sun at the time of this full Moon is in Pisces.

When the full Moon occurs, it signifies the time of the month where you review what you’ve been doing over the last two weeks. It also signifies where you need to make changes in certain areas of your life so you can move on with your life.

With the Sun is in Pisces, you want to take your dreams and make them real. You want to implement them. Yet with the Moon in Virgo, you begin to have doubts. Are they realistic? Will they bring you the happiness you seek? Or, are they all an illusion. The good news is that the full Moon is the time period both to ask and answer those questions. And with this full Moon you’ll get a lot of help as the Sun forms a sextile to Uranus and the Moon forms a trine to Uranus. These two aspects signify that you’ll receive help from unexpected sources. And what are those potential unexpected sources? Your financial situation can be one area. You may be concerned about the cost of your dreams. Now you realize that you have more resources to pursue those dreams than you thought you had. Another area may be friends you haven’t seen for a while. They drift back into your life and represent how much you’ve grown from those years when you knew them well. Seeing how you’ve grown enables you to determine which dreams are necessary to bring into reality and which dreams are just illusions to release.

Understanding which dreams are real and which dreams are illusions set you up for some of the paradigm shifts you can expect with Saturn entering the sign of Pisces.

When Saturn enters the sign of Pisces, it will be in Pisces until May 24, 2025. At that time it enters the sign of Aries. It stays in Aries for a few months when it turns retrograde and re-enters the sign of Pisces on September 1, 2025. It will stay in the sign of Pisces this second time until February 13, 2026.

In honesty, Saturn is not comfortable in the sign of Pisces. Saturn is the planet which represents structure. That structure may be defined by rules and regulations in society or dictated by authority figures in your life. Or, that structure may be the one you create that defines your life and generates your own sense of obligation and responsibility. Meanwhile, Pisces is a sign where boundaries dissolve and shift. Rules become elusive and abstract. They mean different things for different people. When Saturn is in the sign of Pisces, you may find that the old ways of doing things don’t work. You need to come up with some new structures as the old ones are dissolving. Yet, this can’t be done overnight. It’s a process that could take up to the full 2.5 years that Saturn is in the sign of Pisces.

Saturn also represents authority figures and how you want to define your place in society. Meanwhile, Pisces represents the underserved and the disenfranchised in society. The people that you want to lock away or just hide because they are different than you. During the time period that Saturn is in Pisces, many people who feel disenfranchised will start demanding their place in society. What this represents for the world depends. If government leaders and other individuals aren’t willing to listen to the disenfranchised, there will be increased strife. If these same leaders and individuals are willing to understand what the disenfranchised are seeking in their lives, this could lead to increased harmony in life. Basically, everyone wants to be honored and find their place in society.

While Saturn represents concrete ideas, Pisces represents dream which lie both in your subconscious mind and the mass consciousness. What this means is that you’ll see a lot of concepts manifest as new inventions or products. Some ideas may seem intangible right now, but they will start coming into reality, especially in the realm of computer-related technology. On one hand, you may see more deep fakes or discriminatory messaging in artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms because of the bias of individuals developing these programs. Or, you may see an increase of ethical considerations in the development of these programs as people come to understand that their biases could create negative influences.

Being open to new ideas seems easier on March 11th when Mercury forms a sextile to Uranus. Uranus is often seen as the higher octave of Mercury. What that means is that you want to give your ideas a universal meaning which can serve the world, not just yourself. With Mercury in Pisces and Uranus in Taurus you feel comfortable looking at new ideas that don’t quite match your old value systems. You may even decide that while some of your old values no longer apply in your life that’s actually a good thing. You’re ready to move on and leave the old behind.

Be very careful on March 14th as Mars forms a square to Neptune. It’s easy to trip over things, either figuratively or literally. It’s as if you don’t feel connected to the planet. You feel like you’re floating and the journey isn’t quite pleasant. You’re not in touch with reality.

There are a lot of hidden things in your life right now. It could involve contracts, as Mars is in Gemini. Or, it could involve barriers dissolving, as Neptune is in Pisces. People may say things and later disavow what they said. Or, they may give you some information and you find out the information was incorrect…outright wrong. Perhaps even a lie. If you can, you’re better off just staying home and spending time with yourself rather than engaging in the world.

Before Venus enters the sign of Taurus on March 16th, it forms a square to Pluto. With both planets at 29 degrees of their signs, you feel as if things are ending in your life, especially with certain relationships. You no longer want to be involved with people who aren’t meeting your needs. You also don’t want people in your life who are trying to manipulate you to their way of thinking. Basically, you want respect. You want to have power over your life.

As Venus enters the sign of Taurus you realize just how much power you have in your life. You know what you want to achieve. You can sort out what’s important from what’s trivial. And, if you need to take the time to do it on your own, you can. But, the odds of you taking on things on your own are limited as Venus is in one of the signs it rules. Your passion will drive you. It will elevate your charisma to the point that other people want to be around you and they want to help.

When Venus forms a sextile to Saturn on March 17th, it also forms a quincunx to Ceres retrograde a few minutes later and Ceres retrograde forms a quincunx to Saturn a few minutes after that. So, within less than 30 minutes, a yod is created between Venus, Ceres retrograde, and Saturn. Ceres retrograde is the tail end of the yod. Or, you can think of a person with their hands stretch out above their head as they stand on one leg. Ceres retrograde is the leg: Venus and Saturn are the arms stretched out.

With Venus and Saturn forming the sextile, you want to take your passion and give it form. You want to put your plans into action. You don’t want anyone else telling you what to do. At the same time, you want to create something that’s useful for others and accepted by society.

As Venus forms the quincunx to Ceres retrograde, you start to wonder if you have to compromise on some of your ideas. Perhaps other people aren’t quite ready to accept your concepts. Or, perhaps they see you as a threat. So, in honestly, you may want to be a little less devoted to promoting your new concept for a while. This is especially true with Ceres retrograde forming the quincunx to Saturn.

As Ceres retrograde, the leg of this yod, attempts to find some sort of balance, it keeps needing to adjust its stance. And, that adjustment needs to come from Saturn. What this means is that it’s important for you to understand the rules of the game before you proceed with your concepts. You need to survey your environment to determine who will support your efforts and who will stand in your way. You don’t want to rush into the situation without the support of important people who will make things easier for you. Basically, make certain that any plans you want to put into action are those which other people can’t sabotage because for some reason they either dislike your plan or fear your plan.

Before Mercury enters the sign of Aries on March 19th, it forms a sextile to Pluto on March 18th. This means that once again you’re dealing with two planets at the 29 degree point of their signs. As Mercury prepares to leave Pisces, you want to make you can articulate any plans you have for implementing your dreams. You want those plans to be as clear as possible. You don’t want any mistakes because of confusion. Nor do you want anyone to stand in your way because you were unclear in your intended actions.

The good news is that with Mercury forming the sextile to Pluto you are able to clearly state your plans. Also, you see opportunities which may have been hidden from you earlier. You don’t feel as if other people can stand in your way. You know how to dissolve their objections. For this reason, you feel that you can achieve anything. You have the power, as well as the ability, to move forward with your life.

You feel good about moving forward as Mercury enters the sign of Aries on March 19th. You are ready to take action. As a matter of fact, you are so excited about the changes you want to make that you may not listen to other people. You may rush into situations a little too quickly. And, this could become a problem later in the day when Mercury forms an opposition to Ceres retrograde.

With Ceres retrograde in the sign of Libra you don’t want to alienate any people. You want to make certain that they support your goals. Yet, because this is an opposition between Mercury and Ceres retrograde, you may discover that not everyone is enamored with your concepts. They may actually think that you’re rushing into situations a bit too fast. If that’s the case, listen to their concerns. Some people may not give you very good feedback. But, there may be other people who have some important insight that can help you succeed.

Prior to the Sun entering the sign of Aries on March 20th and the Spring Equinox occurring in the Northern Hemisphere, Venus forms a conjunction to the Moon’s North Node. With both Venus and the Moon’s North Node in Taurus you find that it’s important to focus on your values so you can ensure your lifestyle supports your value system. It’s also important, on a more mundane level, for you to provide yourself financial security. You may even determine that it’s important to create a plan for this financial security. When Venus is in Taurus, you want the nice things in life. Yet, you also realize that you just can’t want these nice things. You have to find a way to pay for these nice things. That’s what your plan needs to focus on right now.

When the Sun does enter the sign of Aries, the astrological year officially begins. The chart for the Aries Equinox establishes the energy for the next twelve months. If you decide that you want a detailed mandala for the year to meditate on, just set up a chart for the location you live in and that will help you understand the specific social and personal energies you’ll be dealing with. If you want to understand the energies for a country, set up the chart for the capitol of the country.

As already written, Venus formed a conjunction to the Moon’s North Node a few hours before the Aries equinox. The energy of this conjunction will create an underlying theme for the next twelve months: Providing for your financial security will be very important. Anything dealing with financial security will be critical: Monetary matters. Changes in how financial structures are created.

Another important underlying theme for the next twelve months is relationships as the Sun forms an opposition to Ceres retrograde and a conjunction to Mercury. There is a desire, with the Sun in Aries, to maintain your individuality in relationships. Yet, when Ceres is in Libra, there is a desire to improve your relationships with others. During the next twelve months, you’ll find opportunities where you need to express and stand up for your rights. At other times, you’ll need to engage in active listening. This is a process where you do everything possible to hear what the person intends when they are speaking versus just listening to their words. There will be a lot of negotiations that occur this year on a global level. There could be a lot of strife between various government officials or individuals if ego is put above harmony.

It is very significant that the first new Moon of the astrological year occurs one day after the Aries equinox. Here’s why. The Aries equinox is the start of the astrological year. It sets the tone for the next twelve months. It indicates the themes you’ll need to focus on for your spiritual growth.

New Moon time periods also indicate areas of focus for your spiritual growth. Only the time period is different. New Moon time periods span 28 days (a lunar cycle). The Sun is still at 0° Aries, as is the Moon. They both form an opposition to Ceres retrograde.

You will fight for what you believe in. You won’t let other people take advantage of you. You’re not in a position to compromise because you feel you’ll have to give up too much. While you may think that you’re listening to what other people are say, you’re probably going to talk over them. It is difficult to let them have their say as the new Moon forms a conjunction the Mercury. Just be cautious as Mars is forming a square to Neptune and a quincunx to Pluto. Other people may try to incite you to action by charming you to their cause. (Or, you may get caught up in mob incited action.) The good news is that in the long run the attempt to charm you won’t work because you’ll see through the individuals.

On March 22nd, Ceres retrograde re-enters the sign of Virgo and you find your attitude towards others shifting. You don’t worry about losing your identity. Instead you become more concerned about loyalty. You want people in your life who are supportive and stand by your side. You want to know they have your back. Also, you want relationships with people you can trust. You realize loyalty is a two-way street. You understand that it’s important to support others as much as they support you.

On March 23rd, the day after Ceres retrograde re-enters the sign of Virgo it forms a trine to Pluto before Pluto leaves the sign of Capricorn and enters the sign of Aquarius.

Usually when both planets are at 29 degrees, you feel this sense of closure. Or, you feel the need to bring matters to a close. Still this is different. Ceres is retrograde, meaning that you are returning to events that you didn’t quite complete when Ceres was in Virgo earlier. That was from September 29, 2022 to December 18, 2022. During that time period you may have felt that getting details right was critical. Or, you may have focused on your health. Now that Ceres retrograde is in Virgo and forming a trine to Pluto, you want to make certain that any plans you created during that time period are coming to fruition. You want to make certain your details are accurate. Or, if you’re on a health program, you want to make certain that program is generating the results you need. The good news is that you have the energy to focus and you’re ready to do what it takes.

Pluto entering the sign of Aquarius heralds the start of another major paradigm shift. This time though the paradigm shift will occur more slowly than the one indicated by Saturn entering the sign of Pisces.

Pluto moves very slowly as it orbits the Sun. It moves into a new sign for a short time period and then returns back to the previous sign. This means that Pluto will remain at 0° of Aquarius, turn retrograde, and re-enter the sign of Capricorn on June 11, 2023. During this first time that Pluto is in the sign of Aquarius, you’ll get a hint of what’s to come. When it re-enters the sign of Capricorn, you’ll see where you need to review some past events to determine how they could potentially become a steppingstone for changes that need to be implemented.

The next time that Pluto enters the sign of Aquarius will be on January 20, 2024. Again Pluto won’t venture far into the sign. This time it will turn retrograde at 2° of Aquarius and re-enter Capricorn once again on September 1, 2024. Again, you’ll receive some hints of what’s to come with Pluto in the sign of Aquarius. But again, there will be matters from the past that need to be clear up in order to move into the future in a better manner. When Pluto enters the sign of Aquarius on November 19, 2024, it will remain there for 18 years and 4 months until March 8, 2043 when it enters the sign of Pisces. Technically, Pluto will re-enter the sign of Aquarius for one last time in this cycle between August 31, 2043 and January 19, 2044. While Pluto cycles occur every 248 years, the length of time for a cycle differs as Pluto has an erratic orbit. It can be in a sign for as short as 12 years and as long as 31 years.

When Pluto changes signs, it always indicates some form of upheaval in government structures. It represents conflicts between various classes or institutions, especially religious institutions. Money is frequently a driving force behind many of the conflicts. These changes and conflicts do impact the public, especially when Pluto moves into the sign of Aquarius.

The last time Pluto was in the sign of Aquarius, the American Revolution was drawing to a close and United States was learning how to become a country and govern its people. In France, the French Revolution was starting and the Reign of Terror ensued changing the structure of the government and impacting both its own population and all of Europe. Meanwhile, Catherine the Great of Russia annexed the Crimea in a move to gain control over shipping lanes.

While Pluto in Aquarius is just dipping its toe into the sign of Aquarius, only going to 0° and staying for just a few months this time, you’ll start feeling this energy in your life. You’ll see changes in how some governments function, or don’t function. In some instances, you’ll see more government decisions made by judicial systems rather than elected officials. Or, you’ll see some government officials try to make changes in how their judicial systems function.

As Pluto remains in Aquarius, you’ll see changes in various social structures and how governments financially support those social structures. You also see changes in how governments deal with various religious organizations.

During this initial time period that Pluto enters the sign of Aquarius, you’ll find yourself watching the world to understand the changes. You may decide that some of your friendships aren’t quite working out the way you want. Understanding this may mean you develop new friendships. Or, you may see an increased use of technology invade your personal space and decide that perhaps it’s time to re-evaluate how much technology you need to use. Or, you may look at the cost of some of these technological changes and wonder just how much you can afford. What is interesting to note is that after Pluto is in the sign of Aquarius for a while, many of the changes that finally do start taking hold in the world deal with finding a way for the middle class and the disenfranchised to become a stronger part of society. So, while the initial entry of Pluto in Aquarius indicates a lot of strife and conflict, the longer lasting results tend to favor the underserved of society.

You may still feel a little unsettled on March 24th with Mars in Gemini forming a square to Ceres retrograde in Virgo. Both Mars and Ceres retrograde are at 29° of their signs. Mars is definitely in an ending degree. And, although Ceres retrograde is technically in an ending degree, it actually is reaching backwards because it just re-entered the sign of Virgo in retrograde motion. For this reason, there is this little dance that Ceres retrograde and Mars are doing today. Ceres retrograde is indicating that you need to think about past events and whether you paid appropriate attention to important details at that time. Mars in Gemini doesn’t like details, especially when it’s in the last degree of this sign. Mars wants to dabble: A little of that; a little of this. So, that’s the dance. Making certain you complete all the details important in your life while taking time to think about all those other things you could be doing that aren’t so boring.

As Mars moves into the sign of Cancer on March 25th and forms a quincunx to Pluto a few hours later, you realize just how important your family is. You’re willing to fight for them if you need to. You won’t let other people take advantage of them. You’ll do whatever is necessary to protect the ones you love.

At the same time, with Mars forming a quincunx to Pluto you may not be certain quite how to proceed when you try to protect your family. In some cases they may feel they don’t need your protection. Or, you may find that it’s better to work behind the scenes rather than taking direct action.

This same concern on how to proceed can also apply to your personal life. With both Mars entering the sign of Cancer and forming a quincunx to Pluto, it’s important to take time and assess the situation before proceeding. Do the best you can to maintain some patience in your approach. Moving too quickly could indicate that you haven’t considered all the potential consequences. If you can listen to your inner guidance, you will figure out the best course of action.

You want to choose your words carefully on March 26th when Mercury forms a conjunction to Chiron. You don’t want to give too much away so your words can be used against you. You also don’t want to say hurtful things that could linger on in the memory of others. Usually when Mercury is in Aries, you speak without thinking. The words just rush out of your mouth. But with Mercury forming the conjunction to Chiron, you are careful about what you say.

You feel very optimistic on March 28th as Mercury forms a conjunction to Jupiter. You feel that you can do anything. You see the best in the world. You are even willing to rush into situations without having all the facts. But that’s where you need to be careful. With all this optimism, you might miss something important. Or, you may take something for granted and find out that you expectations were let down. Or, other people may feel that you’re showing off with too much bravado.

As the month of March draws to a close, Mars forms a trine to Saturn and Venus forms a conjunction to Uranus on March 30th. This is a day where you feel good. With Mars forming the trine to Saturn you feel good about the direction you’re taking. You realize that you have a plan and you’re ready to work the plan. With Venus forming the conjunction to Uranus a few hours later, you feel ready for adventures. You want to go out into the world and take risks. You don’t want to be tied down to anything or anyone. Although both Venus and Uranus are in the sign of Taurus, you find that it’s better if you can be flexible in your approach to life.
