Relationships Under Review

By Misty Kuceris ©2021

During the month of October, you’ll feel as if history is repeating itself and all your relationships are under review. And when I use the word review (instead of re-evaluation) I mean that you’ll think about specific relationships which you have to maintain and how you will continue interacting with those people. These could be work relationships. They could be family relationships. But the one similarity with all of these relationships is that for whatever reason, you can’t walk away from them at this time. The reason for this is because not only does the month start with Mercury retrograde in the sign of Libra and relationships, but it also is continuing to go through a series of five Mercury triad sequences which started on September 5th and doesn’t end until November 2nd. By the way, Mercury went retrograde on September 27th.

And you’re immediately hit with one of those triad sequences on October 1st when Mercury retrograde forms a square to Pluto retrograde. But, about one-and-a-half hours before that occurs, Mars forms an opposition to Chiron retrograde.

With Mars forming this opposition to Chiron retrograde you realize that it’s important to pay attention to circumstances in your life, especially those which can cause you pain. While it could be easy to set yourself up with painful situations, it’s also just as easy to pull back and let other people know you’re not going to take it anymore. You’re not going to put up with people who don’t respect you.

This sense of not putting up with others who cause you pain increases as Mercury retrograde forms the second square to Pluto retrograde in this triad sequence. The first time this square occurred was on September 22nd and the last time it will occur is on November 2nd.

The first time this aspect occurred you felt as if other people were trying to ram their information down your throat and you didn’t want to listen to them. You were tired of their power trips. Today, you feel the same way. But this time your approach is different. You may have been caught off guard the last time. Even surprised. This time though you’ve had time to think about your responses. You know what you need to say and how to say it. Still, because Mercury is retrograde, choose your words carefully so they don’t come back to haunt you in early November when this aspect occurs for the third time.

When Venus forms a sextile to Pluto retrograde on October 2nd, you feel very passionate about situations. You don’t want to take anything for granted. Nor do you want to be taken for granted. As you focus on important matters in your life, you realize there is a lot of support going on for you. And, you don’t need to keep quiet about your needs. Nor do you have to explain why those needs are so important.

It’s interesting to note that when October began, both Mars and Mercury retrograde formed tension aspects to planets. And, Mercury formed one of its triad sequences. Once again, Mars and Mercury retrograde are forming aspects to planets, but today, October 3rd, it’s different in the respect that both of these aspects are beneficial aspects.

The other observation which is interesting is that yesterday, Venus in Scorpio formed a sextile to Pluto retrograde yesterday and today Mars in Libra forms a trine to Ceres. There seems to be a need to balance the aggressive and passive energies in a way that brings harmony.

Mars normally takes action without any regard to other people. Yet, when Mars is in Libra, there’s a desire to get along with others. This works well because with Ceres in Gemini, you believe that matters can be resolved through communication. You’ll be able to understand what other people mean when they talk with you, as well as understand what they need.

As Mercury retrograde forms the trine to Jupiter retrograde, you think back to any commitments you made around September 20th and what that means today. You may also want to think about any goals you set around that time period to determine if you still want to implement those goals. And, with both planets retrograde in air signs, don’t be at all surprised if people from your past reappear in your life. While you may want to work on some of your goals, you’ll realize that there is still some discussion you need to have with other people so you can implement your strategy in a better way later this month.

On October 5th you don’t feel as optimistic about connecting with other people as Mercury retrograde forms a quincunx to Neptune retrograde. This is the second time this quincunx occurs in this triad sequence. The first time it occurred was on September 17th when Mercury was direct. The last time it occurs is on October 30th when Mercury is direct and Neptune is still retrograde.

The last time this aspect occurred there was a lot of deceit in the stories that were circulating in the world. You didn’t know what to believe. Unfortunately, the same can be said today. The stories keep changing. The information doesn’t stay the same. And worse, some people have different perspectives to the same information. Whatever you do, don’t sign any contracts today because you’ll find that you don’t have all the information and you could lose a lot of money.

Before the new Moon occurs on October 6th and Pluto turns direct later in the day, Mars forms a quincunx to Uranus retrograde. This is not an easy aspect. Both Mars and Uranus can indicate negative conflicts which have difficulty resolving. While it does help a little bit that Uranus is retrograde, you still need to be cautious. Uranus, even in retrograde motion, indicates unexpected actions. And, Mars, even in Libra, tends to respond without thinking when something unexpected happens. It’s very important for you to move slowly. And, don’t think about beginning any new projects because they aren’t going to come out the way that you expected.

You really want to believe what other people are saying as the new Moon with both Sun and Moon in Libra occurs. But, it may not be that easy because Pluto is in station and getting ready to turn direct later in the day. Usually when there’s a new Moon, you want to move on. You want to begin new projects. But today, because Pluto is in station, you may feel a little stuck.

Because the new Moon is forming a trine to Ceres and a very close conjunction to Mars, you need to communicate your intentions very carefully to other people. They may not understand. And, this is definitely not a day to make any assumptions.

With Ceres in Gemini, there is a belief that if you communicate with others you can achieve something good and resolve some old problems. But, when Mars is in Libra that could be a bit difficult. Mars isn’t comfortable in the sign of Libra, its detriment. Mars wants to take action, but in the sign of Libra there’s this sense that you have to wait for someone else to instigate the action. So, you may find yourself waiting for someone else who is doing the same thing: Waiting for you.

Rather than starting anything new right now, try to hear what the other person is really saying. This means looking at their actions rather than listening to their words. Also, realize that with Mercury still retrograde you may not have all the information you need. Use this more as a day for research where you consider the information and make the decision at a later time.

As Pluto starts turning direct, you feel sluggishness leaving your body. And, where you felt that other people were working behind the scenes, you now realize that they were more transparent than you thought. You were just too busy trying to maintain your own privacy to pay attention to their behavior.

There’s a tendency when Venus enters the sign of Sagittarius, as it does on October 7th, that you want to find that one true love: Your soulmate. But usually the search is more fun than the actual commitment. So, you also need to be careful that you don’t spend so much of your time searching for whatever that perfect something or someone is that you forget to spend some time making commitments and living your life.

As Ceres in Gemini turns retrograde on October 8th, you find yourself thinking about different situations in your life. Perhaps you gave up too easily when a conflict presented itself. Or, perhaps you need to re-evaluate how your relationships, especially with women, are proceeding at this point in your life.

When Ceres is in Gemini you tend to believe that by discussing matters you can come up with a resolution. But that may not be the case right now. You may need to guard your words and try to listen to what other people are saying so you can understand their full intent. Do this until Ceres turns direct on January 14, 2022.

Don’t be at all surprised if people from your past re-enter your life on October 9th when Venus forms a conjunction to the Moon’s South Node. Or, perhaps you meet some new people who remind you of people you’ve known before. If you believe in past lives, it could be that you’re being reintroduced to people you’ve known from those lives. The entire day may feel like déjà vu. You may even find that some of your past ideas resurface because now you can implement them with a new perspective.

As Saturn starts turning direct on October 10th, you continue to feel less sluggish. You’re ready to move on with your life. It’s not that you didn’t do anything during the time period that Saturn was retrograde from May 23rd until now. It’s that moving slowly seemed like a better option during that time period.

Communications may be very difficult on October 12th as Mercury retrograde forms a quincunx to Uranus retrograde. As a matter of fact, you may feel as if some people are trying to raise the same arguments that they raised around September 10th when this aspect first occurred. At that time Mercury was direct and Uranus was retrograde. The truth is that with Uranus retrograde in the sign of Taurus everyone is re-evaluating their value systems and finding that some of those values have either changed or don’t apply. For this reason, many people feel angry or frustrated with their environment and you may be one of those people. What important is to try and understand different viewpoints, if at all possible. Or, if you can’t now, perhaps you’ll be able to understand them better around October 24th when this aspect occurs for the third time. At that time, Mercury will be direct and Uranus will still be retrograde.

Before the second Mercury trine to Ceres occurs on October 13th, Venus forms a sextile to Saturn. Situations feel good today. You understand the needs of others and you’re able to express your own needs clearly. Other people feel the same way. Because there’s a lot of respect for others, you’re able to work together to achieve results. This is also an excellent time to review your budget and make certain that you’re doing what you want.

With Mercury forming the trine to Ceres retrograde, your sense of well-being increases. You feel the communications that you are having today are achieving the results you want. As a matter of fact, since this trine is part of a triad sequence which first occurred on September 5th, you may find that some of the achievements today are a result of negotiations that you had during the early part of September when Mercury and Ceres were direct. Or, if you can’t come up with a resolution today, you will be able to around October 22nd when this triad sequence occurs again with Mercury direct and Ceres still retrograde.

Normally when Venus forms a trine to Chiron retrograde, as it does on October 16th, you feel that other people are willing to listen to your needs and work together to resolve problems. And, it may start that way, but a few hours later Mars forms a quincunx to Neptune retrograde and situations seem to change. People don’t seem that willing to listen to your needs. They also seem to be changing the information they’re sharing with you, as if they don’t know what they’re thinking. For this reason, it becomes more important for you to take care of your needs and not rely on others today.

October 18th is a day where you feel major shifts are occurring even though you don’t quite know what they are. This is because both Jupiter and Mercury turn direct. Meanwhile, Venus forms an opposition to Ceres retrograde in between Jupiter and Mercury both going direct; and Mars forms a trine to Jupiter after these other planets take their actions.

Whenever Jupiter turns direct, you feel a sense of relief. You feel as if you can move on with your life. Yet this time, Jupiter turning direct is more important than usual. The reason is that this is the last time Jupiter will be in the sign of Aquarius until 2032. Jupiter entered the sign of Aquarius on December 19, 2020 and stayed in Aquarius until it entered the sign of Pisces on May 13, 2021. It was only in the sign of Pisces for a short time period when it went retrograde on June 20th and re-entered the sign of Aquarius on July 28th.

During this time period that Jupiter is direct in the sign of Aquarius and before it enters the sign of Pisces on December 28, 2021, you’ll have the opportunity to look at the past year and determine where you want to make changes in your life and where you want to hold on to past behaviors and belief systems.

Normally when Jupiter changes signs, it represents various paradigm shifts depending on the sign it’s in. And, Aquarius is always a sign of tipping points. Tipping points are very important in society because they aren’t caused by anything that’s planned. Instead, they are caused by situations where a group in society feels enough is enough. That group is no longer willing to accept the status quo. So, whenever Jupiter is in Aquarius, tipping points occur which mean that certain situations are no longer acceptable. In some cases, there are lessons learned from those tipping points and in other cases people are so fearful of changes that they hold on to old belief systems and create greater strife by fighting the changes.

In case you’re interested, the last time Jupiter was in Aquarius was from January 5, 2009 to January 18, 2010. President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden were inaugurated on January 20, 2009. Bitcoin and its blockchain technology were introduced just two days before Jupiter entered the sign of Aquarius. The world was recovery from the worse economic crises since World War II. And, the Swine Flu Pandemic (H1N1) was raging through, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), 208 countries.

So, between now and December 28th when Jupiter enters the sign of Pisces, is the time period for you to review the global tipping points which impacted your life, as well as the personal tipping points you experienced. On a global level the major tipping point is the coronavirus and COVID-19. Other major tipping points are the Black Lives Matter and MeToo movements, cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, attacks for ransomware, and various social media movements.

On a personal level, a lot of people talk about how all these tipping points have changed their perspectives on life. Some individuals no longer want to work at jobs which pay little and bring even less joy into their lives. Still other individuals talk about the importance of improving and maintaining personal relationships. So, this is a time period to review your lifestyle and determine if changes need to be made. More importantly, if changes need to be made, it’s time to answer that question: What changes? By the time Jupiter moves into Pisces, you’ll realize the spiritual importance of bringing more value into your life.

Also, when Jupiter turns direct, it’s easier to find justice in your life. On a very mundane level this means that if there are some legal matters you need to take care of, you’ll be able to address them. Also, if you own a business, now is the time to move forward with any marketing plans. And, if you are interested in continuing your education but you weren’t sure how to proceed, you have a clearer insight into the type of classes that you want to take and how to move forward with your dreams.

It’s appropriate that after Jupiter turns direct (and before Mercury turns direct) Venus forms an opposition to Ceres retrograde. Both Venus and Ceres represent those aspects of your nature where you want to be kind to yourself and others. With Venus in Sagittarius, you feel passionate about finding the truth. With Ceres retrograde in Gemini you believe that finding the truth means having discussions with other people. What’s important to note is that with these planets opposing each other, you may find that as you have discussions with others, some of your belief systems don’t seem quite as truthful as you thought. Or, you may feel that you need to stand up for the truth you believe to the point that you have difficulty discussing matters with others.

It helps a lot that Mercury in Libra turns direct after this aspect. During the time period that Mercury was retrograde, you may have seen a lot of old stories, not many of them true, start re-circulating. There could have even been attempts to get people to sign up for various organizations through fraudulent pieces of information. But, now that Mercury is direct, you feel as if you can see the truth in situations. You also feel that you can determine which individuals are important in your life and how to hold on to those relationships.

And, with Mars forming a trine to Jupiter, you feel optimistic about situations. You’re willing to move forward with your life. You want to get along with other people. You also want to take advantage of any opportunities that come your way.

When Venus forms the quincunx to Uranus retrograde on October 19th, be very careful. Too many unexpected things are happening. You may not even see some of those things. With Uranus retrograde is in the sign of Taurus you are going to have to re-evaluate your value systems as they relate to your search for the truth. You may find that some of the beliefs you held aren’t realistic, or they are based on illusions; not something that you’ll like to hear.

When the full Moon with Sun in Libra and Moon in Aries occurs on October 20th, you want to review your relationships with others. With the Moon in Aries, emotionally it’s important that you don’t lose your identity in your relationships. You want people to accept you for whom you are, not in spite of whom you are. And, since the Moon is forming an opposition to Mars while the Sun is forming a conjunction to Mars, you’re willing to get rid of people in your life who are not supportive.

Meanwhile, the full Moon, as well as Mars, forms a square to Pluto and creates a cardinal T-square indicating that you want to make changes in your life. You are no longer willing to let others control your life. Don’t be at all surprised if you respond to any authority figures in anger.

But there is also good news during this full Moon. The Sun forms a trine to Jupiter while the Moon forms a sextile to Jupiter indicating that by letting go of negative relationships and embracing your own personal power, you’ll be able to move on with your life in a manner that fulfills your goals.

Before Mercury forms the last trine to Ceres retrograde in its triad sequence, Mars forms a square to Pluto on October 22nd and you feel as if you need to focus on problems so you can resolve them. This ability to focus can prove so intense that you fail to see other people’s points of view. Or, you may feel that you have to lobby to prove your point of view.

It actually helps that Mercury forms the last trine to Ceres retrograde after Mars forms the square to Pluto. You start realizing that it is important to listen to other viewpoints and find ways, if necessary, to compromise. You may even need to review some of the commitments you made around September 5th when this aspect first occurred when both planets were direct and on October 13th when the aspect occurred for the second time and both planets were retrograde. If you need to make changes to those commitments, now is the time.

As the Sun enters the sign of Scorpio on October 23rd, you find that you want to keep information to yourself. While you’re willing to listen to other people, you don’t want to reveal too much. This is a good day to take a look at your life and reflect on any situations so you can determine if it’s time to make some changes.

When Mercury forms the last quincunx to Uranus retrograde in this triad sequence on October 24th you may finally feel that you have some form of resolution occurring. The first time this quincunx occurred was on September 10th when Mercury was direct. The second time it occurred was on October 12th when Mercury was retrograde. It’s possible that you either had difficulties communicating with others or problems with critical documentation during the previous times this aspect occurred. Now, however, you’re able to find out what caused those problems. And, with this new information, you can make adjustments which enable you to solve the problems.

When Venus forms a square to Neptune retrograde on October 26th, be very cautious in your interactions with others, especially if they involve financial matters. It’s so easy to get sucked into illusions and deceit. You want to believe others. You want to see the best in them. But this may be all the information they need to take advantage of you. The better way to use this energy is to listen to what others have to say. Thank them for the information. And, wait until October 28th when Venus forms the sextile to Jupiter to make any decisions.

And you will feel that life is so much better on October 28th when Venus forms a sextile to Jupiter. This can be an auspicious day. People seem to want to get along. You have a high level of confidence. You can get things done. Enjoy the day as you realize that other people care about getting along as much as you do.

When Mars enters the sign of Scorpio on October 30th, you feel a lot of passion about situations in your life. And, with Mercury forming a quincunx to Neptune retrograde later in the day, you realize that you need to be careful in how you communicate your feelings of passion.

Mars is happy to be in the sign of Scorpio, one of the signs that it rules. Not only do you feel passionately about situations, but you embrace your ability to focus and make things happen. You don’t let other people tell you what to do. Instead, you understand just how important it is to implement your own goals and not care for what other people say.

You may also understand how other people tried to take advantage of you last month when Mercury forms the last quincunx to Neptune retrograde in this triad sequence. The first time this quincunx occurred was on September 17th when Mercury was direct and the second time it occurred was on October 5th when Mercury was retrograde.

It’s possible that during the first two times Mercury formed the quincunx to Neptune retrograde you experience difficulties with either contracts or communications where other people tried to take advantage of you. If there were difficulties with contracts, you’ll be able to make some corrections; perhaps even opt out of those contracts. If people were trying to deceive you, you’ll learn the truth today even if you don’t like what you’re hearing.

Through learning the truth today, you’ll realize just how much thought and energy you did put into reviewing your relationships. And, while you may decide that it’s important to maintain some for whatever personal reason, you also realize that it may be time to move on without certain people in your life. But perhaps the biggest relationship to review is the relationship you have with yourself so that you can determine how to live your life in a way that brings you love and joy.
