March 2019 – Prepare for a New Beginning

The month of March 2019 is going to be a very important month as Uranus enters the sign of Taurus and remains in that sign for seven years. In addition, Mercury will be retrograde during this month. However, there will be a lot of help from Venus which only forms sextiles and Mars which forms good aspects with the exception of one quincunx to Jupiter.

The month begins with Venus entering the sign of Aquarius on March 1^st. Venus is often considered the sign of passion and relationships. In the sign of Aquarius, the most important relationships are friends and acquaintances. You want to find a way to get along with people outside of your intimate family. You also want to feel that you have something to contribute to society, whether that contribution is through volunteer activities or other ventures.

Although you want to surround yourself with friends, you also want to maintain a distance from people. You don’t want to get involved intimately. You maintain your distance because you want to maintain your freedom. You also don’t want to give up your rights because they are the very basis of who you are. If you have too, you will stand up for your rights and not let anyone else take that away from you.

With Venus forms a sextile to Chiron on March 2^nd, you feel as if you can release any pain that you’ve experienced in the past. You understand the importance of letting go because you know the importance of moving on with your life.

Mercury in Pisces turns retrograde on March 5^th and will remain retrograde until March 28^th. When Mercury is retrograde in Pisces, you want to understand how spiritual matters impact your life. You want to see the truth beyond the reality. Sometimes this can work in your favor because you see what’s really there and not the illusions other people are protecting. At other times, however, you might only see what you want to see and not what is there. Because you may not know which way you’re looking at situations, you may want to put off making any important commitments until Mercury goes direct. Instead, use this retrograde time period to list your aspirations and possible ways to achieve those goals.

Uranus enters the sign of Taurus on March 6^th and a new Moon occurs later in the day. When Uranus enters the sign of Taurus, it will begin a new 84-year cycle that lasts for approximately seven years. Uranus will remain in the sign of Taurus until July 7, 2025.

Technically, this is not the first time that Uranus is in the sign of Taurus for this cycle. It initially entered the sign of Taurus on May 15, 2018. But it only went up to 2º33’ when it turned retrograde on August 7, 2018. On November 6, 2018, Uranus retrograde re-entered the sign of Aries for the last time and turned direct in the sign of Aries on January 6, 2019.

It’s not uncommon for outer planets, such as Uranus, to enter a new sign for a few months and to retrograde back into the previous sign for a few months. This is the universe’s way of either making certain that previous paradigm shifts which occurred are now part of the global structure and your personal life; or a way to correct any problems which occurred during the previous seven years.

When Uranus changes signs and remains in that new sign for seven years, you see many disruptions to old orders. The energy of Uranus is to make changes on both a personal level and a global level so that a new order can begin. You’ll find the areas of changes that occur indicated by the sign that Uranus is in. When Uranus was in Aries, changes focused on ways to bring about more individuality: Increased political and economic power for women; rebellions against tyranny as found in Arab spring; calls for more openness in diversity, such as same-sex marriage (also called equal marriage) and LGBTQ. You also saw technological changes that impacted your life. Suddenly you have a computer in your hands. You can contact people, share information, read various media reports, use apps to improve your health, or use apps to increase your play.

But there is also another side to Uranus. One where people or government leaders who don’t want changes rally together to prevent the changes: The toppling of Arab Spring increased war which led to a mass number of diasporas immigrating to other countries; individuals felt their religious or personal beliefs were under attack; and political polarization occurred within the populations of various nations.

Now that Uranus is in the sign of Taurus any changes or disruptions which occur will focus on ethics, value systems, and financial matters.

Changes as they impact your ethics and value systems are the most difficult to quantify. Situations may occur which lead you to question your old value systems. Or, you may suddenly be confronted with other points of view which question your value systems. Ethical practices, especially in the areas of scientific research and technology, will be scrutinized.

One of the largest areas in scientific research where ethics are scrutinized will be in genetic research. That genetic research may involve the question of whether to make gene modifications in hopes of improving the health of individuals or removing traits for specific illnesses. Another area in genetic research will be the continued debate between GMO in food products or changing genes so that certain foods may contain higher levels of nutrients in hopes of preventing diseases.

The question of ethics will also occur is in the use of technology which continues to improve aspects of your life but at the same time decreases your level of privacy. Some of these technological changes can be found in smart door bells which are linked to your computer and give you information as to who is at your door. Or, other areas will be the various devices that you use to keep you informed but also track your uses for increased marketing purposes. This is especially true as more companies use algorithms which theoretically are unbiased but actually contain the bias of the programmers for these algorithms.

When it comes to your finances, you’ve already seen changes begin to take place and they will become more prominent during the time period that Uranus is in Taurus. While some governments want to bring back walls and institutions which keep others out, the financial market is going to continue to increase its global presence. This means that more emphasis will be placed on technology that passes money through financial institutions faster and provides increased encryption. The greatest emphasis will be on blockchain technology. While you may have heard that cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, will increase in use, the financial industry is more interested in the technology used to transfer Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. This is the blockchain technology. Very simply put, blockchain is a means for sharing digital data that can’t be erased or lost. In addition, it’s believed to be a more secure system which can maintain anonymity.

On a more personal level, since the transfer of funds is so important to the banking industry, you’ll see increased use of technologies that transfer money from your bank directly into merchant accounts. Eventually, the use of cash and checks will become limited. While some individuals are proclaiming the eventual loss of cash and checks, that won’t be true for everyone. Transferring your funds via technology does rile privacy advocates who find their purchases are being tracked. You see this tracking occur when you receive coupons in the mail from a particular store or when an online service recommends certain products or services.

A regulatory area of change that you’ll see is in immigration. Immigrants change the dynamics of populations. Whether or not the population of a country accepts these changes will determine what rules and regulations will be implemented to allow or deny individuals from other nations to enter various borders. How this impacts you on a personal level depends. For corporations that rely on immigrant populations for their workers this could be a problem if those are jobs which most Americans don’t want. Or, you may feel that you’re missing out on meeting more people from a diverse background. It’s even as simple as wishing you had a local restaurant that provided authentic food from a different culture.

The negative aspect of Uranus in Taurus is the fear that other people, especially from different cultures, don’t support your value systems. Their values are too different to understand. Letting those fears overwhelm you can lead to more barriers preventing people with differing viewpoints from entering your orb of familiarity.

So, during the next seven years, as Uranus is in the sign of Taurus, you’ll find yourself confronted with your value systems and whether those values are still applicable in a changing world. You’ll find that as technology becomes more important on a daily basis it also becomes more important to know when you can disconnect from this technology to enjoy the small things in life and nature. Finally, you may find the transfer of financial funds easier through electronic means, but you may also realize that how you spend your monies is being tracked for various purposes and you may decide cash is not such a bad transaction after all.

Perhaps it’s fitting that several hours after Uranus enters Taurus, there is a new Moon. This new Moon occurs with both the Sun and Moon in Pisces and forms a conjunction to Neptune. You may feel confused as to the direction of your life. You may feel as if too much information is being presented and you don’t understand it.

Although it is not exact, Saturn, Pluto, and the Moon’s South Node form a conjunction during this time period. You need to reach back into the past in order to understand what foundations you’ve created that give you the strength to succeed. This isn’t the time period for any quick changes. You need to move slowly. You need to understand how the past is impacting your future.

With Mars forming a sextile to Neptune on March 10^th, you don’t feel like doing too much. You’d rather sit back, relax, and perhaps meditate. With Mars in Taurus, today is a good day to reflect on the world and find harmony in your life. Perhaps you may even want to take time to tune into your creative nature. If you do have to work today, you’ll find it easier to get things done if you use creative approaches to solve problems.

When Venus forms a sextile to Ceres on March 11^th, you find that you can balance your need to compromise with your need to feel passionate about what you want to do. You’re willing to bring new ideas into your life, especially since Venus is in the sign of Aquarius. You’re willing to try new things since Ceres is in the sign of Sagittarius. You don’t feel confined by what other people think. You’re willing to take risks that can bring more rewards into your life.

If you decide to stay home, this is a great time to review your space and clean out the debris that isn’t important anymore. This is also a great time to create that sacred space you’ve always wanted. Or, if you have a sacred space in your home, take the time to cleanse it so there is no negative energy surrounding that space.

Today, March 14^th, you have more energy as Mars forms a trine to Saturn. You’re able to focus on any task that’s important. You know how to use the knowledge you’ve accumulated from experience to begin new projects. You have confidence in your abilities to achieve your goals.

On March 15^th, Mercury retrograde forms a square to Jupiter. This is the second time this square occurs in this triad sequence. The first time it occurred was on February 22^nd when Mercury was direct. The last time this square occurs is on April 11^th when Mercury is direct and Jupiter is retrograde.

You may have felt optimistic about what you could achieve around February 22^nd, but you needed to be cautious. It was important that you paid attention to the details as you considered your long-term goals. Any details that you missed back then will start surfacing now. You still won’t have all the facts but you’ll have more information that can help you make any long-term decisions.

On March 16^th, another Mercury triad occurs as Mercury retrograde forms a sextile with Pluto. This is the second time this aspect occurs. The first time it occurred was on February 23^rd when Mercury was direct. The last time this aspect occurs is on April 10^th when Mercury is direct.

Having Mercury retrograde form a sextile to Pluto today is good because you understand the importance of research. You realize that you still don’t have all the facts. But you’re ready to put in the work to get those facts. Just as you did in February, continue to keep a record of the information you find out so you can use this knowledge when you make your final decision in April.

Before the Sun enters the sign of Aries and the full Moon occurs on March 20^th, Mars forms a trine to Pluto and Mercury retrograde forms a sextile to Saturn.

You’re able to focus on many projects today. You have the energy to move forward with what is important in your life. You don’t worry about what other people have to say. You have confidence that you know what you want and how to achieve your goals. Just don’t become so focused that you miss some important details or fail to listen to others. They may have the information you need to be successful.

When Mercury retrograde forms a sextile to Saturn, this is the second time this aspect occurs in this triad sequence. The first time it occurred was when Mercury was direct on February 19^th just after the full Moon. The last time that it occurs is on April 7^th when Mercury is direct again.

A lot of people will want to discuss their plans with you. You may even want to discuss your plans with others. But keep those plans as realistic as possible. With Mercury retrograde in Pisces you may want to achieve some things that don’t have a firm foundation in reality. Move slowly today and don’t take action until this aspect occurs for the last time in April.

When the Sun enters Aries the Spring Equinox occurs in the Northern Hemisphere and a new astrological year begins. Chiron entered the sign of Aries on February 18, 2019 and is still in its early degrees. For this reason, when the Sun enters Aries, it forms a conjunction to Chiron indicating that you need to deal with any past pain which you’ve ignored. It’s also time to look at your self-defeating behaviors. Self-defeating behaviors are actions that you take which actually cause you more injury than help. They are based on childhood fears or actions which are no longer valid now that you are an adult. Evaluate those self-defeating behaviors and let go of them. Because this chart also has a conjunction in Capricorn created by Saturn, Pluto, and the Moon’s South Node, you’ll find ways to use your past experiences as a foundation for your future growth.

Mercury is retrograde in this chart and moving into a conjunction with Neptune. Also, Mars is forming a quincunx to Jupiter. Situations are not as they seem. You may hear information which has no basis in fact. It’s critical that you check out any information you hear before you act on it.

A few hours after the Sun enters the sign of Aries, the full Moon occurs. This full Moon has the Sun in Aries and the Moon in Libra indicating that you need to find that balance between going after what’s important to you and finding compassion for other people. And the Mercury retrograde/Neptune conjunction is in effect indicating you still don’t have all the information you need.

At the time of a full Moon you want to let go of situations or emotions which are no longer important. In this case, it’s time to let go of past fears or pains, especially in relationships. Don’t be at all surprised if you can find ways to repair old relationships. If you feel that need to reach out to someone to discuss resolutions to old problems, today is a good day.

Understanding your long-term goals is important on March 21^st as Venus forms a sextile to Jupiter and Mars forms a quincunx to Jupiter later in the day.

When Venus forms the sextile to Jupiter, you are excited about your potential prospects. You feel as if you can achieve anything you want. You also feel that you’ll get support from other people. Normally this is a day of good luck or rewards for what you’ve done in the past.

But you need to be careful as Mars forms a quincunx to Jupiter a little later in the day. You may have rushed into situations too quickly before you got all the facts. You may have come across as someone who isn’t willing to listen to others. So, take your time and move slowly with any projects so you don’t make mistakes.

The second conjunction of the triad sequence between Mercury and Neptune occurs on March 24^th. Now Mercury is retrograde. The first time this conjunction occurred on February 19^th, Mercury was direct. When this conjunction occurs for the third time on April 2^nd, Mercury will be direct again.

Continue to be cautious in your communications with other people. Remember that they don’t necessary have your best interests at heart. If you ran into problems around February 19^th you may discover some solutions now. Or, you may find those same problems are resurfacing.

It’s better if you meditate and reflect on your future goals. You don’t want to take any steps right now. You just want to assess whether your dreams are realistic or need some more thought.

Venus entering the sign of Pisces on March 26^th can be very pleasant. You feel as if you want to help everyone in the world. You care about doing things right. This is a good day to relax. You may even run into some old friends you haven’t seen in a while.

Mercury will be turning stationary direct tomorrow, but today on March 27^th, Venus is forming a sextile to Uranus. Move slowly and don’t take too many risks. With Venus in Pisces, pay attention to your spiritual needs. You are open to new ideas. You may even come up with some new concepts if you take the time to meditate.

You may run into an old friend that you haven’t seen in a while. If you run into the old friend, you’ll have an opportunity to resolve some old problems. Or, you may just enjoy the encounter and have a great time.

Mercury turns stationary direct on March 28, 2019. However, with the four triad sequences that Mercury makes between February and April, this retrograde period won’t feel as if it’s over until April 11^th. So continue to review information. Get as many facts as you can. Try to discern what is real in your life and what is an illusion. Continue writing down any ideas you have so you can review them next month.

As the month of March ends, Mars enters the sign of Gemini on March 31^st. You want to rush out into the world. You feel excited that there’s a lot you can learn.
