As the month of December 2018 begins, Mercury is retrograde in the sign of Sagittarius. It went retrograde on November 16, 2018. Now, on December 1st, Mercury retrograde re-enters the sign of Scorpio. It was initially in the sign of Scorpio from October 9, 2018 until October 31, 2018. During that time period secrets were very important. But now that Mercury is retrograde in the sign of Scorpio, you may find that these secrets are being revealed. While it’s important to reflect and listen when Mercury is in Scorpio, it can be more important to realize communication can just as important.

Scorpio also rules waste and other forms of debris. When Mercury is retrograde in Scorpio, take a look around your home and decide what needs to be thrown out. This is not a time for hoarding. The concept is to remove things which can get in the way of your success.

December 2nd can be a frustrating day as Mercury retrograde forms a quincunx to Uranus retrograde and Venus enters the sign of Scorpio, its detriment.

When Mercury forms a quincunx to Uranus, you find it difficult to focus. Too much information is coming in and you don’t know where to begin or what to say. This is especially true with both planets retrograde. You feel as if you keep running around but you’re not getting anywhere. You also keep reviewing old things in your mind but you can’t seem to get the answers.

You need to be very careful today. Not being focused could mean that you get involved with accidents. Or, you say something that you regret later.

It helps that Venus enters the sign of Scorpio a few hours later. With Venus in Scorpio, you don’t want to say so much. You want to keep to yourself. Secrets are very important. But, you need to be careful because you might become too possessive in relationships. Or, you may find that you’re holding on to too many things or people and that can get you into trouble. Also, with Venus in Scorpio, there is a tendency to hold on to the past. If you are experiencing a difficult day, it’s because you’re holding on to the past. But, if you can let go of obstacles, you’ll find this day is a lot easier.

December 4th is the second time that Mercury forms a trine to Chiron in this triad sequence. The first time this aspect occurred was on October 29, 2018 when Mercury was direct and Chiron was retrograde. The last time this will occur is on December 9, 2018 when both Mercury and Chiron are direct.

With both Mercury and Chiron now retrograde, you may need to go back and review some information from your past. You need to let go of past pain. You don’t want to keep replaying that tape over and over again. If you can let go today, you’ll find it a lot easier to let go on December 9th. If you don’t let go today, you’ll face the same problems on December 9th.

Mercury turns stationary direct on December 6th. It turned retrograde in the sign of Sagittarius on November 16, 2018. With Mercury turning stationary direct, you’ll find more information coming to the surface. Some of this information will be from events that occurred between October 9, 2018 and October 31, 2018 when Mercury was initially in the sign of Scorpio. It’s possible that some financial scandals come to light. Or, it’s possible that you were trying to get some information at that time and now you finally have the information that you need.

When the new Moon with Sun and Moon in Sagittarius occurs on December 7th, you feel as if you can start moving towards your goals. But Mars forms a conjunction to Neptune later in the day and this new Moon forms a square to the Mars/Neptune conjunction. What this means is that you don’t really know the direction you want to take. You may have several options, but none of them feel right. Or, you may feel overwhelmed by the tasks you believe you need to accomplish in order to achieve your goals. Since this can be a very creative or spiritual day, you’re better off reflecting on your options and meditating on your possibilities. You may even want to review your dreams and aspirations to see how realistic they are.

Since this is a day for reflection versus action, you need to be careful when you’re out in the world. It’s more difficult for you and other people to focus. If you’re not cautious, you could end up in an accident. If possible, limit your physical activities so you can reflect on what’s important in your life.

As Chiron turns direct on December 9th, Mercury forms the final trine to Chiron in its triad sequence. Chiron turned retrograde on July 5, 2018. When Chiron was retrograde you may have felt that you needed to understand what stood in the way of your success. But, it may have been difficult to release any of that old pain. Now that Chiron is direct, it will be easier to move on with your life and not let the old pain get in the way.

A few hours after Chiron turns direct, Mercury also now in direct motion, forms the third trine to Chiron in this triad sequence. The first time this occurred was on October 29, 2018 when Mercury was direct and Chiron was retrograde. The second time this occurred was on December 4, 2018 when both Mercury and Chiron were retrograde. With Mercury in Scorpio, you find it easier to delve into the depths of your subconscious mind and understand why the pain is there and why you weren’t able to release it earlier. Now you’ll be able to let go of that negativity. You may even discover some family secrets that help you understand your family dynamics better. With Mercury in Scorpio, you want to understand events from your past. You want to let go of any negative reactions you may have had at that time. You’re tired of carrying any pain from the past.

Be very cautious on December 11th as Mercury forms a quincunx to Uranus retrograde. You’re off balance. You think you know what to say but the words don’t come out right. Your mind is working too quickly and your tongue can’t keep up with it. This is a time to move as slowly as possible. You don’t want to say the wrong thing or end up in an accident because you weren’t paying attention.

On December 12th, Mercury enters the sign of Sagittarius. You feel inspired to seek the answers. You want to learn as much as possible. You don’t want to be held back by your own boundaries. You’re willing to push the boundaries if necessary. But, Mercury is also in its detriment so you need to be a careful that you don’t say too much or try to justify your behavior. You may want to do so much that things become unrealistic. Curb that enthusiasm if it brings you into unrealistic situations. If you do that you’ll be all right.

Ceres represents the goddess of the earth while Neptune represents the god of the sea. Together these energies represent all of earth. When Ceres forms a trine to Neptune on December 13th, you’ll see many veils being lifted around the world. You’ll see scandals revealed. You’ll hear truths to many stories.

On a personal level, this trine indicates that you can find truth within your own search. You understand what’s important for you and how to approach that situation. You’ll also find that you can use your creative abilities to find new solutions to old problems. You’ll feel a joy in how you approach situations in your life.

When Venus forms a sextile to Saturn on December 16th, you find a new source of confidence. You realize that you can do anything you want. You know how to use your past experience to move forward with your life. You are able to focus and create plans. You know how to implement the right steps.

Financially this can be a good day for you. You have a deep understanding of how to apply your dreams in a realistic manner to achieve your goals.

Before the Solstice occurs on December 21st, Venus forms a trine to Neptune and Mercury forms a conjunction to Jupiter.

Neptune is often considered the higher octave of Venus. When Neptune and Venus form a trine, you understand the importance of compassion and the role it plays in your life. You’re able to approach your interactions with other people in a caring manner. The world around you becomes important because the people are so important. You want to make certain that things work out all right.

You’re creative nature also increases during this time period. You feel as if you can achieve quite a bit. You understand the importance of your dreams. If you pay attention to your dreams you’ll find a way to make them real.

As Mercury forms a conjunction to Jupiter less than one hour later, you feel confident that you can achieve anything. Jupiter is in its rulership while Mercury is in its detriment. What this means is that you need to balance your optimism with reality. You can achieve a lot if you understand your own limitations.

As the Sun enters the sign of Capricorn, the last quarter of the astrological year begins. In the northern hemisphere this is the time of the Winter Solstice. This is also a period of time when you want to review your year to see if you achieved your goals. As you review your goals, you’ll actually create a foundation to move forward with your life over the next three months.

Both the Venus/Neptune trine and the Mercury/Jupiter conjunction are active in this chart. This is a good time to list your aspirations with notes indicating how you can make them realistic. With the Moon in Gemini today, you may want to discuss your potential goals with friends and family to gain their support. If they bring up some concerns, listen to those concerns and determine if they’re valid. But, if your plans are realistic, you’ll find that a lot of people are willing to give you their support.

The day after the Sun enters Capricorn, a full Moon occurs on December 22nd. This full Moon has the Sun in Capricorn and the Moon in Cancer. Emotionally you want to make sure that your family is safe. On another level you believe that by providing your family with financial stability you will keep them safe.

You need to be very careful on December 24th when Mercury forms a square to Neptune. There’s a tendency to have unrealistic expectations. You don’t see things clearly. You may only see what you want.

You also need to be careful with what other people say. They may not be lying outright. They may just be omitting important facts that are critical to your decision making. This is not a day for signing any contracts.

Both Venus and Ceres represent the feminine aspects of a person. Venus is passion; Ceres is logic. When Venus forms a conjunction to Ceres, you find that balance between your passionate and logical natures. You know how to negotiate and find the right compromises to create solutions. You are charming and can get other people to listen to what you have to say.

As Venus forms a sextile to Pluto on December 28th, you realize that you have the power to get what you need in life. You may meet an individual and develop a passionate relationship. You may need to negotiate and find that other people are willing to listen because of your charm. You are also able to show other people just how much you care about a situation.

This is also a good day for finances. You’re able to balance your financial needs with your dreams and aspirations. If you’re looking for a job, you’ll be able to find one that meets both your pleasure and financial needs.

When Mars forms a conjunction to Chiron on December 29th, you’re able to heal from past pain in your life. You’re able to put forth the right energy to achieve what’s important. You don’t let past pain stand in your way.

As Ceres forms a sextile to Pluto at the end of the year on December 30th, you’re able to balance the need for power with the need to compromise. You’re able to work with other people. You realize that you don’t have to just grab something and take it away from another person.
