The month of December 2012 begins with Mars still out-of-bounds. It went out-of-bounds in October 2012 and will remain out-of-bounds until December 9th. This means that you may feel a lot of energy around you, but you still don’t know how to harness that energy. Frustrations can erupt from situations around you. Or, you may feel a bit scattered and unfocused. The best is to move slowly so if you do feel a bit scattered or unfocused you can regroup. Once Mars returns in bounds, you’ll find it easier to take action.

Meanwhile, December 1st could be a frustrating day for you for another reason. Both Venus and Mars form a quincunx to Jupiter retrograde while Ceres forms a trine to Neptune. The quincunx that both Venus and Mars form with Jupiter retrograde creates a Yod, the fickle finger of God. Venus and Mars are sextile to each other, indicating that there’s a desire to find ways to achieve goals or take action. But, with both planets forming a quincunx to Jupiter retrograde, you may find that the action you want to take is more difficult to manifest. Other people don’t necessarily share your goals. Or, if they share your goals, they want to go about achieving those goals a different way. This can lead to frustration and tension in relationships, especially if those relationships are with loved ones. While you may want to understand each other, it could be more difficult, especially since Ceres retrograde forms a trine with Neptune. The reason is that you want the idealist solution to any problem. You want things to be easy. Unfortunately, that may not be the case here. It’s very important that you understand the facts and use those facts in making your decisions.

On December 4th, Ceres retrograde re-enters the sign of Gemini. Ceres went retrograde in the sign of Cancer on October 31, 2012. It will actually be retrograde until February 4, 2013. When Ceres re-enters the sign of Gemini, you’ll feel as if it’s important to discuss situations with other people. You’ll want to hear their side of the story. This desire to discuss matters with others could actually lead to resolving some old problems with people from your past.

While you want to resolve problems from your past, you’ll find that you also want to move forward with your future goals on December 7th when Mercury forms a conjunction to the Moon’s North Node. This is actually the third time that Mercury forms a conjunction to the Moon’s North Node. The first was on October 12, 2012. The second time was on November 17, 2012 when Mercury was retrograde. Now that Mercury is once again direct, it is forming a conjunction to the Moon’s North Node on December 17th.

Sometimes it’s hard to remember just what you were doing on the previous days this conjunction occurred. But between October 12th and December 7th, you may have been thinking about your future goals and how they fit into your life spiritually. You may have also been thinking about how you want to move from negative into positive actions. This is a good day to consider those positive actions and how you want to implement them. This is especially true with your relationships. You may have felt that you couldn’t discuss everything with those you love in life. And, while it may be hard with the energy in Scorpio, it is important because you need to know just where you stand; just as they need to know where they stand.

Mars finally return in bounds on December 9th and you feel less scattered. You’re not as frustrated by situations. You feel as if you’re in control again. With Mars being in the sign of Capricorn you’ll be able to focus on your career again and make any necessary changes. And this feeling continues on December 10th as Mercury leaves the sign of Scorpio and enters the sign of Sagittarius.

Normally Mercury isn’t comfortable in the sign of Sagittarius, its detriment. However, with Mercury in the sign of Sagittarius, it is now in mutual reception with Jupiter retrograde. A mutual reception occurs when two planets are in the signs of each other’s rulers. The mutual reception often operates like a conjunction between two planets. Things can get done. In this case, it’s easier for you to complete important projects. You also have a sense of optimism that things can get done. This mutual reception will last until the end of the year when Mercury enters the sign of Capricorn.

But you do need to be careful on December 11th when Mercury forms a square to Neptune. At this point information may become confusing. This is not a good time to sign any contracts, especially those which involve a lot of money. You don’t have all the facts. You may be going more on your optimistic thoughts than on necessary information to make good decisions.

A few days after Mercury made its conjunction to the Moon’s North Node, Venus also makes a conjunction to the Moon’s North Node on December 12th. You may feel a sense of déjà vu.

You may feel that you want to review your future goals and see how they fit into your life spiritually. You may decide that there have been enough secrets in your various relationships and it’s time to find out where you stand. You may even find that your love relationships have more power in them than you ever knew. This could be a good day to discuss those important matters with your loved ones so you can find out how to support each other.

The new Moon, with both Sun and Moon in Sagittarius, occurs on December 13th. This is a hopeful new Moon, especially hope for the economy. You’re feeling a sense of lightness in your life. You feel as if you can achieve more things now. Perhaps you’re finally able to come up with some solutions to problems which have been bothering you over the last several weeks. Just take your time in implementing those solutions because there are still important details to resolve.

After the new Moon occurs on December 13th, Uranus turns stationary direct. This is a subtle energy. You may not see it expressed outwardly, but suddenly it seems like more people are open to new ideas. You may even come up with a way to solve a problem that you hadn’t considered before.

December 14th is going to be an interesting day. Venus forms a quincunx to Ceres retrograde while Mercury forms a trine to Uranus and a square to Chiron. This is a day to discuss important matters with your loved ones. You may feel as if you’re not receiving enough support in life. If that’s the case, it’s critical that you let other people know what you need. You may even be able to come up with solutions that increase the support you receive from others. But if you just ignore your needs, you’ll feel hurt and you may even pull back from sharing information with those people you love. That could create a sense of alienation which doesn’t need to happen.

Venus enters the sign of Sagittarius on December 15th and you may feel a little more optimistic about your personal relationships. But be careful on December 16th when it comes to relationships. Venus forms a square to Neptune on that day and people may not be able to meet your expectations. Also, be very careful with financial matters. Again, with Neptune involved, you won’t see the real cost of an item.

Mercury forms an opposition to Jupiter retrograde on December 17th. Normally when Mercury forms an opposition to Jupiter retrograde, you talk too much and you give out too much information. You become over optimistic about your ability to solve problems. And, instead of solving those problems, you create more problems.

However, this Mercury/Jupiter retrograde opposition is different. Since both planets are in mutual reception, you’ll actually be able to talk things out. You will be able to solve problems. And, if you’ve been thinking about something for a while, you’ll suddenly gain important understanding about the situation. It’s a day of “ah ha” moments.

Things are happening quickly with Venus forming a trine to Uranus on December 19th. Relationships happen quickly. Finances exchange hands quickly. While you may have a sense of optimism that you can do anything, be careful. By moving too quickly, you could miss some very important details. For those of you who are in the job market, things actually start looking better.

December 20th is another day to be cautious. Venus forms a square to Chiron, Mars forms a quincunx to Ceres retrograde, and Jupiter retrograde forms a quincunx to Pluto. This could be a very powerful day as energy flows. But the flow of energy could feel like chaos is you don’t maintain your sense of focus. You might say hurtful things to other people. You may decide that anger is the best means of expressing yourself. Or, you may feel that other people are trying to manipulate you. The best way to use the energy of this day is to pull back and re-evaluate any actions that you want to take. Move with caution. Try not to take anything personally. Remember that other people are as sensitive as you are today.

When the Sun enters Capricorn on December 21st, the final quarter of the astrological year begins. This is the time of the Winter solstice in the western hemisphere.

In the chart set up for Washington, DC, the Ascendant is once again in Sagittarius. The Sun is in the first house indicating that the state of the nation is very important to the public. Emotionally people want to feel that they have security in their lives. Yet, there is an unsettling feeling to this chart because Uranus is on the cusp of the nadir in the fourth house. This means that no one really has an idea about what to expect.

Because Sagittarius is on the Ascendant, the events of the world will still continue to shape the events for the United States and people’s lives in general. There is no way that being isolationist can help. It’s important to be aware of world events.

The employment picture is looking a little better although there is still a long ways to go. Jupiter is retrograde in the sixth house indicating that many companies are just beginning to increase their employee numbers to levels they had in the past. Technically they are not adding any new jobs.

So you may feel unsettled today. But at least it won’t be as bad as the previous day. If you can go with the flow of energy and not have any major expectations, you’ll do all right. Just focus on your goals and how those goals enable you to increase your own sense of security.

Continue to focus on your goals on December 22nd when Jupiter retrograde forms a quincunx to Saturn and Venus forms an opposition to Jupiter retrograde. What will happen when you focus on your goals is that you’ll be able to be more realistic about them. You may find that some of the goals no longer make sense. You may change your plans. As long as your plans harmonize with your spiritual and material needs, you’ll be all right. Do be careful with the stock market today because it will be very erratic due to international events.

When Mars enters the sign of Aquarius on December 25th, international events continue to highlight the news. The economic picture is confusing. On one hand, the job market seems to be improving in the United States. However, the employment picture doesn’t look quite so good for Europe.

Since this is Christmas Day and Mars is now in the sign of Aquarius, it’s a good time to contact old friends. It’s also a good time to spend with people who are important in your life. The Moon will also form a conjunction to Jupiter retrograde on this day indicating that being with people will bring joy into your life. You may even see some people you haven’t seen in quite a while.

Mercury goes out-of-bounds on December 26th and Saturn forms a sextile to Pluto later in the day. With Saturn forming the sextile to Pluto, you’ll feel as if you can finally implement some plans that you considered at the time of the Winter Solstice on December 21st. But you need to be a little careful. With Mercury out-of-bounds, some of your ideas may seem unrealistic to others in your life. And, you may have difficulty explaining those concepts to people you love. Mercury will be out-of-bounds until January 14, 2013.

The full Moon, with Sun in Capricorn and Moon in Cancer, occurs on December 28th. If you need to analyze personal matters in your life, this will be a good time because the Sun forms a conjunction to Pluto and the Moon forms an opposition to Pluto. You’ll be able to delve into your subconscious mind and pull some of that information up to the surface. If you’ve been facing some blockages that are preventing you from moving forward, you’ll be able to release those blockages. And, because the Sun is forming a sextile to Saturn and the Moon is forming a trine to Saturn, you’ll be able to come up with practical plans.

As both the month of December and the year of 2012 ends, Mercury enters the sign of Capricorn and Mars forms a sextile to Uranus on December 31st. This is another day to focus on your goals and their impact on your family. You’ll be able to come up with new ideals that really make sense. You’ll feel energized on one hand. You’ll feel in control of your situation on the other hand.

The month may have begun with feeling scattered. However, the month ends with you feeling more in control of your destiny.
