The month of October 2019 starts with Venus forming a square to Pluto retrograde on October 1st. Venus and Pluto often are considered to have a symbiotic relationship with each other. Both govern the passions of our lives. Venus represents the passions that we feel towards love; Pluto the passions we feel towards expressing our inner selves. At the same time, both planets can also represents the physical passion that people feel when they are attracted to another individual or a specific cause.

When Venus forms a square to Pluto retrograde, you feel passionate about situations in your life. At the same time, you may also feel distress about these passions. They drive you, but they also get in the way of you moving slowly in life. Other people may feel that you are pushing yourself too hard or you are pushing them too much.

Venus and Pluto also represent aspects of financial matters in mundane astrology. It’s important that you watch your budget and don’t let your passion make financial decisions. It’s also important that you create a long-term financial plan so you don’t get stuck with financial problems later.

A few days after Venus forms the square to Pluto retrograde, Pluto turns direct on October 3rd and Mercury enters the sign of Scorpio. Pluto went retrograde on April 24th. Because Pluto is a planet that represents the need to internalize your feelings and understand your subconscious motivations, you may not have felt Pluto’s retrograde energy. Now that Pluto is turning direct, you may feel that you can tune into your personal power and achieve more. It’s a subtle feeling, perhaps one you don’t even notice.

As Mercury enters the sign of Scorpio, secrets become very important. You’re willing to listen but you’re not willing to divulge. Communications slow down at this time because it becomes more important to understand a situation before speaking. While Mercury in Scorpio is seen as difficult because of the need to maintain secrets, it can actually be a useful time period for you because you feel the need to research information to make certain that it’s accurate.

As Mars enters the sign of Libra on October 4th, you find that other people become more important in your life. You want relationships to work out. You want to find ways to negotiate situations rather than just rush into them. This could be a good day to try and resolve personal relationships because you have a better understanding of the other person’s point of view.

When Mercury forms the quincunx to Chiron retrograde on October 5th, you feel that you need to be very careful with your words. You don’t want to hurt anyone else. At the same time, people may misinterpret what you say. This is not a good day to share too much information. If possible just listen to what others have to say.

October 7th is another day where listening is important as Mercury. Yet, you may not feel like hearing what the other person has to say because Mercury is forming an opposition to Uranus retrograde. When this aspect occurs, you tend to say things without thinking. You just blurt out the information. This may put the other person on guard because they feel you’re not respecting their point of view. If you can take the time to listen to what they have to say, you may discover a new perspective which can actually help you in the long run.

When Venus enters the sign of Scorpio on October 8th, it forms a mutual reception with Mars in Libra. A mutual reception is when two planets are in each others rulership signs. Mars rules Scorpio and Venus rules Libra. Therefore, these two planets are in mutual reception.

Mutual reception is important because it means the planets are able to find cooperative ways to operate together. Normally Venus isn’t comfortable in the sign of Scorpio. There’s this desire to keep secrets which can create problems in relationships. However, with this mutual reception, there is a desire to cooperate in relationships and find ways to understand the importance of the relationship. You understand the importance of privacy. You want to protect the people you love. At the same time, you realize that without engaging in relationships it’s more difficult to achieve your goals in life.

Later in the day, Mars forms an opposition to Chiron retrograde and Ceres forms a square to Neptune and some interesting dynamics can occur today.

When Mars forms an opposition to Chiron retrograde, you need to be cautious that you don’t put yourself into harmful situations. There’s a desire to help other people but you don’t want to help them to the point of hurting yourself.

With Ceres forming the square to Neptune, you may not get all the facts you need. It’s very important that you don’t put yourself into any compromising situations. You need to move slowly until you discover the truth. If possible, hold back with any agreements until you know you have all the facts.

When Venus forms a quincunx to Chiron retrograde on October 10th, you need to continue to be cautious. Again, you don’t want to put yourself into any situations which can bring you harm. It’s good that Venus is in Scorpio because you tend to be skeptical of situations you don’t understand. You’re willing to engage with other people, but only if you feel you can trust them. And, with a quincunx what you think you know isn’t quite the situation. Things have a way of changing when you least expect it.

You need to continue to be cautious with relationships on October 12th as Mars forms a quincunx to Uranus retrograde and Venus forms an opposition to Uranus retrograde. So much information is coming your way that you can’t interpret it all.

With Mars forming the quincunx to Uranus retrograde, you don’t feel as if other people are letting you do what you want to do. You feel as if you’re not allowed to be yourself. You may even feel that other people are trying to control you.

As Venus moves into the opposition to Uranus retrograde, you’re ready to say, “Enough is enough.” You won’t put up with people who are not respecting you. You’re ready to walk away from relationships that aren’t built on trust. In the positive, this could be the day where you realize that being taken advantage of is not an option and you break free from difficult situations.

With the full Moon on October 13th, you’re ready to make changes in your life, especially in the areas of relationships since the Sun is in Libra and the Moon is in Aries. You realize that while relationships are important, your own individuality is even more important. You want to find that balance between loving yourself and loving others.

With the full Moon forming a square to Pluto, you also feel the energy of a cardinal T-square. What this means is that it’s important for you to feel empowered. You can do this by understanding how relationships in your life enable you to be the person you are. And, you can also do this by making changes in your relationships if other people are not respecting you and letting you feel your own sense of well-being and power.
