November 2020 – Even Not Knowing: Time to Move On

Important astrological energies for the month of November:

  • Mercury in Libra turns direct on November 3, 2020. Mercury in Scorpio turned retrograde on October 13, 2020. It re-entered the sign of Libra in retrograde motion on October 27, 2020.
  • Jupiter in Capricorn conjunct Pluto in Capricorn on November 12, 2020. This is the last time that this conjunction occurs in this triad sequence. The first time it occurred was on April 4, 2020 when both planets were direct. The second time it occurred was on June 30, 2020 when both planets were retrograde.
  • Mars in Aries turns direct on November 13, 2020. Mars entered the sign of Aries on June 27, 2020. It turned retrograde on September 9, 2020. It will leave the sign of Aries on January 6, 2021.
  • New Moon with Sun and Moon in Scorpio occurs on November 15, 2020.
  • Appulse Lunar Eclipse (FM) with Sun in Sagittarius and Moon in Gemini occurs on November 30, 2020. Although there will be one more eclipse this year, this is the final lunar eclipse of the year.

November 2020 – Even Not Knowing: Time to Move On

By Misty Kuceris ©2020

November 2020 is going to be a year made in history for the United States of America. November 3, 2020 is the official election date for the President and Vice President of the United States as well as the time period to see if the Republican Party holds its majority in the Senate or whether the Democratic Party takes over the majority.

A lot is up in the air as this article is being written. Polls, which in the last presidential election year proved to be inaccurate, are giving Joe Biden either an edge or at least a tie in the Electoral College states which matter. Meanwhile, no pollsters know how to count the potential outcome of the Senatorial elections which is what matters most at this time.

With all this uncertainty in the air, the month of November starts with Mercury still retrograde and forming a second square to Saturn on November 1st. The first time that Mercury formed a square to Saturn in this triad sequence was on September 23rd when Mercury was direct and Saturn was retrograde. The last time that this aspect occurs will be on November 6th when both Mercury and Saturn are direct. One hour after this square occurs, Venus will form an opposition to Chiron retrograde.

Because Mercury represents communications and is retrograde, you need to be very careful with the information you hear. You may also have difficulty communicating with others because Saturn represents barriers. You may feel that other people aren’t willing to listen to your concerns. At the same time, Mercury retrograde forming a square to Saturn could indicate that you are trying to find a way to relate to others since Mercury retrograde is in the sign of Libra and Saturn is in the sign of Capricorn. You are very concerned with the status of situations in your part of the world and what you can do about these situations.

Venus is also in the sign of Libra as it forms an opposition to Chiron retrograde. Once again you want to relate to other people. You want to find a way to build bridges of understanding. But, you may not find that possible as other people don’t want to listen to you. Perhaps they may even want to get into arguments with you as Chiron retrograde is in the sign of Aries. The key is to accept what’s important to you and find a way to communicate this without losing your own individuality.

But all of this could mean that you’re still not getting the information which you feel is important for you to make any major decisions in your life. You don’t want other people to intimidate you, but you also want to move on with your life. All of this is going to play out over the next few days as people who did not vote early get ready to vote in a couple of days in the United States.

On November 3rd, Mercury in Libra turns direct around 12:50 pm EST as Venus in Libra forms a quincunx to Uranus retrograde around 9:11 pm EST. This is Election Day in the United States. And, the population in the United States is used to immediate results, but I don’t expect that at the time of this election.

Mercury was in the sign of Scorpio when it turned retrograde on October 13, 2020. It re-entered the sign of Libra in retrograde motion on October 27, 2020. When Mercury is in the sign of Libra, you care about your relationships with other people. You want to understand others. At the same time, when Mercury was retrograde you may have felt that other people didn’t communicate well with you or you didn’t communicate well with them. As Mercury turns direct, you’re able to hear what other people are saying.

But, in mundane astrology, meaning political astrology in this case, Mercury represents how information is spread. Libra meanwhile represents either alliances or litigations. As Election Day begins in the United States, Mercury is still retrograde. Quite a few people have already voted absentee or early in-person, yet those results won’t be counted before the polls are closed. This means that those votes are retrograde votes. And, with Mercury retrograde in the sign of Libra, don’t be at all surprised if those votes are brought into litigation and questioned. Meanwhile, as voting polls open on Election Day in the United States, Mercury is still retrograde, so don’t be surprised if you find difficulties with some of the equipment at various location or just plan old-fashioned long lines. There is also concern of voter intimidation occurring, but I don’t see that quite the problem that some media outlets are trying to promote.

As the day progresses Mercury does turn direct and any problems at the voting places start being corrected. Yet, by 9:11 pm EST, Venus in Libra forms the quincunx to Uranus retrograde and some unexpected information regarding the election surfaces. To me the unexpected information is that final announcements as to who won the elections can’t be determined. And, already various political leaders are calling for litigation. But, the real power doesn’t rest with the winner of the Presidential election. The real power will rest with the party that wins control of the US Senate.

So how does all of this impact you personally, especially if you don’t live in the United States and don’t care about any elections in the United States?

As Mercury turns direct and Venus forms a quincunx to Uranus later in the day, you realize that building alliances is important. You can’t achieve anything if you try to do it on your own. You need help from others. You’re able to discuss your needs. Yet, at the same time, you start understanding that there are points of view which are different from yours and still need to be addressed. You can’t ignore the world around you.

Now that Mercury is once again in direct motion, it forms its last square to Saturn in this triad sequence on November 6, 2020, just three days after the election in the United States. The first time this occurred was on September 23, 2020 when Mercury was direct and Saturn was retrograde. The second time this occurred was on November 1, 2020, two days before the election.

Ballots for the elections in the United States are still being counted. In some areas it’s too close to call. There is an outcry that some of the ballots were rigged or the election is inaccurate. Bringing matters to litigation is also being discussed.

But this is a time period where it’s more important to discuss matters with your family and friends. In many ways, at least in the United States, the events coming up to the elections polarized emotions and created dissent in families and between friends. Also, the entire matter of the coronavirus and COVID-19 is still lingering. This is a time for serious discussion about what you want to do with your life. This is the time to determine just what type of structures you need now as you relate to your family and friends.

As Ceres re-enters the sign of Pisces on November 9th you may actually feel more compassion for people you didn’t agree with earlier in the month. Ceres initially entered Pisces on April 23, 2020 and turned retrograde in the sign of Pisces on July 11, 2020. On September 27, 2020, Ceres re-entered the sign of Aquarius in retrograde motion and turned direct on October 18, 2020 when in the sign of Aquarius.

When Ceres is in the sign of Pisces, you may have unrealistic expectations of others and always look for perfection, especially in people you love. This could make relationships more difficult. But at the same time, you want to understand what other people need and see if you can help them out. You may be fearful of direct confrontation, but this could give you the pause you need to start listening to others. Perhaps you may also understand what fears they are going through and how you can help each other.

On November 10th, Mercury re-enters the sign of Scorpio and a few hours later it forms a trine to Ceres which has just re-entered the sign of Pisces.

Mercury initially entered the sign of Scorpio on September 27, 2020. It went retrograde in Scorpio on October 13, 2020 and re-entered the sign of Libra in retrograde motion on October 27, 2020. Earlier this month, on November 3rd, it turned direct in the sign of Libra.

When Mercury is in the sign of Scorpio you don’t want to give out too much information. You’re concerned about your privacy. At the same time, you find that listening becomes easier. Some people even believe that they can trust you to remain silent. The one thing that does occur is that if there were any secrets they will be revealed over the next few days.

You also feel that silence is even more important as Mercury forms a trine to Ceres. You want everyone and everything to be perfect. You don’t want any direct confrontations or arguments. You want to find a way to create peace in your life. The good news is that your ability to listen is heightened and you can help people solve their problems.

When Venus forms a quincunx to Neptune retrograde on November 11th, you need to be very careful with financial matters. You don’t have all the facts. Other people may even be trying to rob you financially.

But, you also need to be very cautious in your personal relationships with others. They may give you the impression that they want to work with you. But, instead, they may be trying to find a way to get you to agree with their needs. Or, they may be so stuck in their problems that they don’t want you to help them. They just want you to support them as they stay stuck in their problems.

On November 12th, Jupiter forms a conjunction to Pluto. This is the last time this conjunction occurs in this triad sequence. The first time Jupiter formed a conjunction to Pluto in this triad sequence on April 4, 2020 both Jupiter and Pluto were direct. The second time it occurred on June 30, 2020 both Jupiter and Pluto were retrograde.

When this aspect occurred for the first time in April, many states were still putting boundaries on individuals with stay-at-home orders. It wasn’t until the month of May that many of the states started lifting their stay-at-home orders but incidents of coronavirus infections started spiking again in June. And, with this conjunction occurring for the last time now there is concern that more incidents of infections will continue to occur.

Yet people are also feeling the COVID fatigue. Many individuals are tired of feeling socially isolated from others. They want to go out and do things. They want to be part of a group. And all of this makes sense when you consider what Jupiter and Pluto both mean.

When Jupiter is involved, you want to push boundaries and move beyond the confines of society. You don’t want other authority figures (indicated by Pluto) to tell you what to do. At the same time, both planets are in Capricorn so getting guidance from the leaders of your society is just what you want and need right now. You want to know what’s going on. You want an end to the health crisis, or any political crisis which may be occurring in your country.

In addition with both planets in Capricorn you may feel that some changes in society are occurring too quickly and you want things to slow down a bit so either you can get used to the changes or you can develop an understanding of how those changes are going to impact your life. Also, you need to dissect the events of the world so you know how to empower yourself. What this energy actually represents is the need to establish common goals so members of society can work together. If that doesn’t occur, there could be an increased amount of tension between various sectors of society.

On November 13, 2020, Mars in Aries turns direct. It went retrograde on September 9, 2020. Every two years, Mars goes retrograde. Normally Mars is in a sign for about 8 to 9 weeks, but in those years that Mars goes retrograde it can be in the same sign for up to six months. Technically, Mars entered the sign of Aries on June 27, 2020 and it won’t leave the sign of Aries until January 6, 2021. When Mars is in Aries, it’s in the sign of its rulership. Mars represents your personal vitality and it also represents the attitude of many individuals in a country. This is important because when Mars is in Aries, you want to take care of yourself. You don’t want other people telling you what to do. You are also willing to fight for what you believe in.

When Mars was retrograde, you may have felt less energy. You may have also wondered why situations seemed stuck or repetitive. Or, you may also have wondered why you were receiving different rules and messages. For example, President Donald Trump of the United States wouldn’t wear a mask and Congress wouldn’t set any national standards for safety and compliance. That was left up to the governors of each state or various city leaders. You didn’t know where to turn for guidance. It also created tension in a society that believes in personal freedoms. Some individuals believed face masks and social distancing were ways to protect individuals until a better means of overcoming the coronavirus and COVID-19 occurred. Other individuals believed that their civil liberties and even second amendment rights were being taking away.

Now that Mars is turning direct, you feel that you are receiving more guidance than before. At the same time, there may be some simmering anger which surfaces. Sometimes people will even feel a little depressed when Mars turns direct. That’s because often anger that is turned inward results in depression.

What you want to do now that Mars is direct is focus on how to keep yourself healthy and safe. Also you want to find safe ways to express your needs so other people both hear you and understand you. Lashing out won’t work: But perhaps speaking might.

On November 15th, the new Moon occurs, a few hours later Mercury forms its third quincunx to Chiron retrograde, and Venus also forms a square to Pluto.

When the new Moon, with Sun and Moon in Scorpio, occurs, you want to pull back. Usually when there’s a new Moon, you want to start things. But with this new Moon, you’d rather review events in your life and toss out any garbage that’s standing in your way of success. The good news is that with the new Moon forming a sextile to Pluto, Jupiter, and Saturn you’ll find that quite easy. You feel confident about your goals. You realize that you have the power to move on with your life.

When Mercury forms the quincunx to Chiron retrograde, this is the end of this triad sequence that began on October 4, 2020 when Mercury was direct and occurred for the second time on October 22, 2020 when Mercury and Chiron were both retrograde. Because privacy is so important at this time, you want to make certain that you don’t do anything which causes any personal injury. You want to take care of both your needs and those of your family. And, you’re glad that you are willing to throw out that garbage that is no longer important in your life.

When Venus forms a square to Pluto on November 15th you want to make commitments in your life, but you don’t want others to take advantage of you. You feel very passionate about what you need to do in your life. The tension comes not from the outer world but from your own inner world. You’re trying to find a way to succeed. And, if you feel tension it’s either because you’re trying too hard, or you’re not certain as to the best steps to take.

As Venus forms the square to Jupiter on November 16th, you feel more optimistic about the direction of your life. Yes, you may still feel a bit of tension, but today it’s different. It is tension created from wanting to move forward with your life and feeling that you just can’t move fast enough. Just be a little cautious that you don’t move so quickly you miss some important steps.

You finally feel as if the Mercury retrograde period is over on November 17th even though it technically ended on November 3, 2020. This is because Mercury forms its final triad sequence on November 17th by forming an opposition to Uranus retrograde. This first time this occurred was on October 7, 2020 when Mercury was direct and Uranus was retrograde. The second time that this opposition occurred was on October 19, 2020 when Mercury and Uranus were both retrograde.

Throughout this month those of you living in the United States may have been waiting for the election results of the Presidential Election held on November 3th. With many of the election results coming from mail-in ballots and early in-person voting, I don’t believe that you have the final results. But, today that may change as Mercury in direct motion forms the opposition to Uranus retrograde for the last time in this triad sequence.

In general, you need to be very careful with communications since Uranus represents unexpected disruptions. There could be problems on social media. There could be attempts at computer hacks. Or, there could just be information that is totally outrageous and filled with lies. Be careful of what you hear.

Meanwhile this could also indicate a day where it’s difficult for you to focus because of all the information you’re receiving. For this reason, you need to move slowly and focus on the details, or else you could end up in an accident.

As Venus forms the square to Saturn on November 19th, you want to understand your boundaries. You also want to understand the best steps to take to achieve your goals. This is a great day to think about developing milestones: small steps that indicate success as you continue on the path to achieving your goals. You also are able to get a better sense of what you want to do where you fit into society.

On November 21st, Venus enters the sign of Scorpio and the Sun enters the sign of Sagittarius later in the day.

Venus isn’t always comfortable in the sign of Scorpio, its detriment. That’s because Venus represents the desire to care for others while Scorpio represents the need to pull back and maintain your personal privacy. With Venus in Scorpio, you prefer to remain aloof and hold back until you understand the other person and determine whether you can trust that individual. In the positive, this is a time period where you can see what the individual actually wants from you and whether you’re willing to get involved with that person.

It helps that the Sun enters the sign of Sagittarius later in the day because you start feeling a little more optimistic. While you may still remain a little aloof, you are also willing to interact with others. You want to understand what’s going on.

A few days after Venus enters the sign of Scorpio, it forms a trine to Ceres on November 23rd. Mercury will also form a trine to Neptune retrograde later in the day. You feel more compassion today. You want to help other people. You’re able to listen to their needs and perhaps even give them more advice. But with Venus in Scorpio, you’re also skeptical of people who aren’t willing to take care of their own needs. As compassionate as you may be, you also believe that others are responsible to their own actions and you can only help people who are will to help themselves.

With Mercury forming the trine to Neptune retrograde, you continue to feel compassionate for other people. And, you want to help them as well. But, now that this trine is occurring you may feel that you’ve been a little too harsh with people. So, be a little careful. While you want to show compassion, you don’t want to be sucked into taking care of others when they aren’t willing to take care of themselves.

When Venus forms a quincunx to Chiron retrograde on November 25th you need to be careful not to hurt yourself. In the negative, you may feel that you don’t deserve love or affection from other people. But in the positive, you may realize that if people aren’t giving you the love you deserve, it’s time to release those people from your life. You don’t need to get hurt in your relationships with others.

On November 27th, Mercury forms a sextile to Pluto and a few hours later Venus is forming an opposition to Uranus retrograde.

When Mercury forms the sextile to Pluto, you feel very intense about situations in your life, especially with Mercury in Scorpio which is the ruling sign for Pluto. You’re willing to do what it takes to get things done. You’re also willing to listen until you understand situations.

But as Venus moves into the opposition to Uranus retrograde you feel as if situations are changing around you. You don’t feel quite as in control of your life as you did earlier in the day. It’s interesting that at this time, the Moon in Taurus is also forming a conjunction to Uranus retrograde and an opposition to Venus.

Emotionally you want changes in your life. But, at the same time, you don’t want to lose anything which brings value into your life. You’ve not sure where to go. Venus is also in Scorpio so perhaps it would be better if you just pulled back and listened to what other people have to say.

You breathe a big sigh of relief on November 28th when Neptune goes direct. It went retrograde on June 23, 2020. A few hours after this occurs, Mercury forms a sextile to Jupiter. Normally when Neptune goes retrograde it doesn’t matter that much. But at the time that Neptune went retrograde in June 2020 there were five other planets also retrograde (Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto). A lot was hidden from you. You didn’t know what the new rules were. You didn’t know what was expected of you. You just hoped that you did everything right. And, all you could do was the best you could at the time.

Today you start feeling that things are becoming clearer. You feel as if you can move on with your life. Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto are also direct. At this time only Uranus and Chiron are retrograde so you feel that you can come out from that rabbit hole and enjoy life.

This feeling that you can get out of that rabbit hole increases as Mercury forms a sextile to Jupiter after Neptune turns direct. You feel as if you know where you want to go with life. You feel as if other people are willing to give you support. You don’t feel as if you are going at this alone at all. Basically, you feel optimistic about situations in your life.

The last lunar eclipse of the year occurs on November 30th with the Sun in Sagittarius and the Moon in Gemini. After the eclipse occurs, Mercury will form a sextile to Saturn. This is a penumbral (appulse) lunar eclipse that is part of the 116 Saros Series. It will be visible in Asia, Australia, the Pacific, as well as both North and South America. (The last eclipse of the year is a Total Solar Eclipse on December 14, 2020.)

Eclipses tend to obscure matters. With lunar eclipses you want to understand your emotional needs so you can find ways to manifest your well-being in the world. With the Moon in Gemini, you want to be able to communicate your needs with others. And, with the Sun in Sagittarius, you want to be able to find your way in the world and try new things. But it’s difficult at this time. There’s still a lot of unknown out there. You don’t have all the answers. And there are still too many things that are unsettled.

Yet even though there are things that are unsettled, you feel that you can communicate your needs to other people as Mercury forms the sextile to Saturn. You’re able to organize your thoughts and express them clearly. You may take things seriously now but that’s because you want to know what’s going on and how you can make things work out in society. In many ways, you’re ready to move on with your life.
