December 2019 – Maintaining Foundations

By Misty Kuceris ©2019

The month of December starts with six energy points in Capricorn when Jupiter enters the sign of Capricorn. The energy points are Jupiter, Ceres, Venus, Moon’s South Node, Saturn, and Pluto. This concentration of Capricorn energy will continue until at least mid-January 2020 when it is emphasized by the penumbral lunar eclipse that occurs on January 10, 2020. The last time this cluster of planets occurred in Capricorn was between the years 1995 and 1998. During those years several major events occurred:

  • Ukraine’s Premier Vitaly Massol resigned and a new constitution was put in place;
  • The horrible tragedies created by the Oklahoma Bombing and the Unabomber;
  • President Bill Clinton’s Impeachment;
  • Hong Kong reverted to China; and
  • IBM’s Deep Blue computer beat Chess Master Gary Kasporov; and

When there is this much Capricorn energy, you find many issues focus on the foundations of society and the governance of various countries. When tragedies that occur they are more than personal. They are felt by the entire nation, and in some cases by the entire world. When national struggles occur they revolve around individuals who want to be a part of society and receive the same societal benefits as everyone else, but who feel they were left out for any number of reasons. Disruptions can occur in the old order as new concepts are introduced.

So on a personal level, you want to create systems in your life that enable you to be a part of society. You want safety and a secure future. On a spiritual level, the Capricorn energy represents where our spirit needs to find balance in the material world. Often, it is considered the aspect of initiation where the energy of the god or goddess comes into our lives so we can be one with spirit.

You feel this Capricorn energy deeply as Jupiter enters the sign of Capricorn and Venus forms a conjunction to the Moon’s South Node in Capricorn on December 2nd.

Jupiter represents a twelve-year cycle that lasts approximately 13 months. It will be in the sign of Capricorn until December 19, 2020. The last time that Jupiter was in Capricorn was from December 18, 2007 to January 5, 2009.

The last time that Jupiter was in Capricorn several major events occurred although the most remembered one is the economic crisis where the housing market collapsed and the presidency went from the Republican George W. Bush to the Democratic Barak Obama. Some other events which proved to be important over the long-run were in the technological field surrounding the streaming of music, podcasts, and videos. Plus, Space X, a company owned and operated by Elon Musk, launched its first private spacecraft, Falcon 1.

Jupiter in Capricorn focuses on structures and leadership that set up a country for new growth into the future. Or, it can indicate where countries need to correct problems which can make their growth more difficult. Any excesses which occurred the few years prior to Jupiter entering the sign of Capricorn need to be curbed. Sometimes this requires a push to the other extreme before the central balance can be found.

With Jupiter representing commerce and Capricorn representing corporations, you’ll find a closer link develops between governments and private ventures. In the United States, more federal agencies will seek to outsource some of their operations to private ventures. The most obvious example is occurring at NASA with the privatization of the space program. Or, as some people prefer to call it, the commercialization of the space program.

Jupiter in Capricorn also deals with the workforce and a desire to find a better life, specifically to find a way to balance work and family. You’ll find more people seeking family leave for the birth of a child, not just maternity leave. Or, you may even find more companies are willing to consider the option of a four-day workweek. Yet, you’ll also find that companies are less inclined to approve telecommuting as they feel they want more control over how people work, not where people work.

Finally, Jupiter in Capricorn deals not only with housing situations when it comes to banking, but financial transactions. You’ll find that the use of electronic banking increases. And, more companies, especially tech companies, try to get involved in the banking industry.

On a personal level, you want to find your place in society. You may even find that you become more conservative in your approach to life. You want security not only for yourself, but also for your family. You want that solid foundation which can bring more success in your life.

As Venus forms the conjunction to the Moon’s South Node, you realize how important it is to consider what you’ve learned from the past and apply those lessons to daily life. You may re-evaluate your value systems to make certain they still support your goals.

When Mercury forms a sextile to Pluto on December 3rd, the retrograde energy of Mercury is finally over. Even though Mercury was retrograde from October 31, 2019 to November 20, 2019, you actually felt the retrograde energy as early as October 14, 2019 when Mercury formed the first in a series of triad sequences. Now, with Mercury forming a sextile to Pluto, this is the last of the Mercury triad sequences. Mercury first formed this sextile on October 19, 2019 when Mercury was direct. It formed the second sextile on November 9, 2019 when Mercury was retrograde.

As Mercury forms the sextile to Pluto, you are able to focus on whatever is important in your life. You are driven to succeed, especially with Mercury in Scorpio. You don’t want other people to tell you what to do. Today you finally know the plan you need to implement in order to succeed. You don’t have to second guess yourself. You have confidence in your vision.

On December 8th, Ceres in Capricorn forms a conjunction to the Moon’s South Node, Venus forms a sextile to Neptune, and Jupiter forms a square to Chiron retrograde.

Once again you realize the importance of understanding past events and their impact in your life as Ceres forms the conjunction to the Moon’s South Node. With Ceres in Capricorn, you feel a greater sense of responsibility in your relationships, as well as your environment. You want everything to work out well. At the same time, it’s important to realize that you need to let other people learn from their own mistakes. You can’t take care of everyone.

As Venus forms the sextile to Neptune later in the day, you try to find the truth to your spiritual desires. You want everything to work out. You don’t want to get into any arguments. You’re looking for the perfect solution. But this may not always be easy since you don’t have all the facts. And, you may even feel as if you’ve met your soulmate. But again, be careful. You may be seeing what you want and not what’s there.

It’s also important as Jupiter forms a square to Chiron retrograde that you don’t implement plans which could cause you stress. As you try to build a stronger foundation in your life and create a safe environment, you don’t want to cut yourself off from people who can give you emotional support. You don’t need to do everything on your own. You can ask for help.

When Mercury enters the sign of Sagittarius on December 9th, you need to be careful. There’s a tendency, since Mercury is in its detriment, to move too quickly or try to justify your actions. If at all possible, take time to consider your future and how you want to get there. As you make plans realize that you also need to be flexible with those plans as they may change.

As Mercury forms a trine to Chiron retrograde on December 10th, you find that you want to discuss ways of bringing healing into your life. One of the problems of having Mercury in Sagittarius is sometimes you talk too much and find that your own words can get you into trouble. But today you understand that. You realize that you don’t need to over explain your actions or apologize for things you haven’t done.

On December 11th, Venus forms a conjunction to Saturn and a few hours later Mercury forms a quincunx to Uranus retrograde.

When Venus forms the conjunction to Saturn, you take things seriously. You feel responsible for relationships in your life. You want to make certain that any plans you make involve other people. Sometimes when this aspect occurs you feel a little bit lonely. You feel as if you’re the only one taking relationships seriously. But that’s not true. Other people also feel the same way.

As Mercury forms the quincunx to Uranus retrograde you realize that you need to be very careful with your choice of words. You don’t want to say too much or else you could get into trouble. You may have some difficulty focusing on situations and that could cause problems. The key is to move slowly and pay attention to your surroundings.

When the full Moon occurs on December 12th, you want to discuss matters with everyone. This is because the Sun is in Sagittarius and the Moon is in Gemini. You want answers to all your questions. But you need to be cautious because this full Moon forms a square to Neptune indicating that information may be withheld from you. Or, you may hear only what you want to hear and not what’s really being said. If possible, take time to listen, but don’t make any decisions today.

After the full Moon occurs, Chiron turns stationary direct. It went retrograde on July 9th. For some people, the shift from retrograde motion to direct motion may not be that obvious. You want to take care of your needs. You don’t want to cause any pain in your life. You want to move forward and bring more healing into your life.

On December 13th, Mars forms a trine to Neptune. Normally when Mars forms a trine to Neptune you feel lethargic and confused. But that’s not going to happen today because Venus forms a conjunction to Pluto a little later in the day.

When the day begins, don’t rush into situations. Just take your time. Look at things from a creative point of view. See if you can do things a different way. Try to understand what other people are saying and perhaps incorporate some of their ideas.

As Venus forms the conjunction to Pluto your ability to focus increases. You see the value of creative ideas. You’re willing to do whatever it takes to succeed. You have a lot more energy than you expected. This is also a great time to renew any old relationships which brought joy into your life. You understand the value of friendships as well as the value of privacy. This means that if you need to discuss matters with other people, they’ll feel safe knowing that you won’t push any boundaries and that you’ll keep their information safe.

Jupiter forms a trine to Uranus retrograde on December 15th. Usually when a trine between Jupiter and an outer planet occurs, it occurs three times as a triad sequence. But this time Jupiter is only going to form a trine to Uranus retrograde once.

Normally Jupiter represents the desire to move forward with your life while Uranus retrograde indicates that you may not always consider the consequences of any changes you make. Yet, both planets are now in earth signs which means you tend to be more cautious than normal. In this case, you want to make certain that you have security in life. So, what happens when Jupiter forms this trine to Uranus retrograde, you can open your mind to new concepts which help you succeed. You may not act on these new ideas today, but at least jot them down so you can think about them and research their value.

When Mars forms the sextile to Saturn on December 19th, you feel confident that you can succeed with any ventures. You’re willing to do what it takes. You feel that you have all the information you need to develop a game plan.

But that changes as Mercury forms a square to Neptune later in the day. Suddenly you feel confused. You thought you had all the information, but now you realize that some facts are missing. In actuality, this is a good thing. You find that you slow down and re-evaluate your situation. As you do this, you come up with a better game plan. Just don’t take any legal actions today because you need more facts before you proceed.

When Venus enters the sign of Aquarius on December 20th, you’re able to detach from any situations which are too emotional. You’re able to move on with your life. Friends are important, but you don’t feel as if you need to take care of them. You’re willing to facilitate their growth but also know that they have to do things on their own.

Before the Winter Solstice occurs on December 21st, Venus forms a sextile to Chiron. You want to make certain that you’re operating with the spirit of love. You don’t want to take anyone for granted. You want to be as open as possible.

As the Sun enters the sign of Capricorn the winter solstice begins in the Northern Hemisphere. This is the last quarter of the astrological year.

With the Sun in Capricorn, there are six energies in the sign of Capricorn: Sun, Jupiter, Moon’s South Node, Ceres, Saturn, and Pluto. You feel a deep sense of responsibility for the world. You want to make certain that your family is safe and secure. You don’t want to take any risks. Today you celebrate your place in the world and how you developed your foundation. This is a good day to stay home, enjoy your family, and enjoy the prosperity you can bring into your life.

When Venus forms a square to Uranus retrograde on December 22nd, you usually need to be cautious. You may feel as if things are happening too quickly, especially as they relate to financial matters. This is not a good day for impulse buying because you’ll find the item cost a lot more than you thought. But, you may also run into old friends that you haven’t seen in while and bring memories of joy into your life.

As Mars forms the sextile to Pluto less than one hour later, you realize that you can focus on situations and you aren’t as scattered as you thought. You’re able to control any impulses which would normally get you into trouble.

The last eclipse of the year occurs on December 26th. It is an annular solar eclipse which occurs with the Sun and Moon in Capricorn. Asia, Australia, Saudi Arabia, India, Sumatra, and Borneo will be the geographical areas where the eclipse will be seen. It is part of the Saros 132 cycle.

This eclipse is important as it continue to emphasize the energy points found in Capricorn. As a matter of fact there are seven energies points in the sign of Capricorn: Moon, Sun, Jupiter, Moon’s South Node, Ceres, Saturn, and Pluto. This indicates that there will be a lot of changes going on with governments and regulations which can lead to upheavals. This also indicates that more people want to find ways to participate in society and have their needs meant.

In your personal life, you’ll want to make certain that you have a solid foundation. You’ll want to protect your family and other people who are important in your life. You won’t want to take any risks which can upset situations in your life. If you have problems, you’ll feel responsible for correcting those problems. But, you may also find that your approach is more business-like than personal. You may have difficulties feeling empathy for others.

The eclipse itself forms a trine to Uranus retrograde and a square to Chiron indicating that some new ideas or concepts may present themselves. But you’re not quite ready to take action. Or, you may find that some of your ideas aren’t working out as well as you wanted them to. As much as you want to have a solid foundation in your life, you also need to be open to any new concepts which present themselves because they could help you solve your problems.

December 27th is not a day to plan for any detailed tasks. With Ceres forming the sextile to Neptune, you’re much better off going with the flow. If another individual asks for your help consider the request with skepticism. They may be trying to get you to do something you’d rather not do. Or, they making be trying to get you to take responsibility for their actions.

The good news is that this is a great day for creative approaches, especially if you’re thinking about making changes in your home. You could come up with some great design ideas. This is also a great day to re-evaluate how you approach other situations in your life. You may find a way to do things differently that makes life easier for you.

When Mercury enters the sign of Capricorn on December 28th, the seven energies in the sign of Capricorn are Mercury, Jupiter, Sun, Moon’s South Node, Ceres, Saturn, and Pluto. Throughout this month you’ve felt the need to be responsible and build a strong foundation. Now with Mercury in Capricorn you want to develop plans that support your need to be responsible. You aren’t willing to take risks, but you want to have a path to follow. You also want to make certain that any actions you take support not only your needs but those of your family. Just don’t become so focused on ensuring your family’s security that you spend too much time at work and not enough time with people you love. While it may be difficult, try to maintain that balance between your work and your personal life.

When Mercury forms a square to Chiron on December 29th, you want to be very cautious with your words. You don’t want to say something that makes other people feel as if they are putting you out. There’s a tendency when Mercury is in Capricorn to take things too seriously. Or, you may speak in a manner that is off-putting to others because it sounds too harsh. Instead, try to listen to what others have to say and find ways to let them make their own decisions.

As the year 2019 ends, Mercury forms a trine to Uranus retrograde on December 30th. You’re able to come up with new ideas. You understand that while traditions are important, they can also change as your life and circumstances change. You’re able to come up with creative ideas and concepts. You’re able to find ways to implement new ideas without disrupting the status quo.
