Follow Your Plan

The month of March starts with Venus forming a trine to Jupiter in the morning hours EST and the first of two full Moons during this month occurring in the evening hours EST on March 1st. When Venus forms a trine to Jupiter, you feel as if you can achieve anything. You’re optimistic about life. You want to reach out to other people because relationships are important.

Yet, with the full Moon occurring later in the day, you need to be cautious in your interactions with others. The full Moon has a Sun in Pisces and a Moon in Virgo which means that the Sun is forming a conjunction to Neptune while the Moon is forming an opposition to Neptune. This could lead to some confusion as you try to sort out your practical needs from your emotional desires.

Normally with Venus forming a trine to Jupiter and the full Moon occurring, this would be a good day for long-range planning. But you may be confused about your goals and what you want to achieve. Rather than establishing concrete plans, meditate on your aspirations. See if your dreams are realistic. Try not to do too much. If possible, create a daily routine which is easy to maintain.

When Mercury forms a trine to Jupiter on March 2nd, you’ll have a better idea of what is realistic in your long-term planning. You’ll be able to take your aspirations and develop a plan.

This is a great day for communicating with other people. You feel confident about your ideas and goals. You know what you want to achieve. There is only one minor problem that may occur: You feel so confident about your ability to achieve results that you make too many commitments and realize only later that you can’t complete them all.

On March 4th, Mercury forms a conjunction to Venus and both planets form a conjunction to Chiron later in the day. All of these planets are in the sign of Pisces which means that your ability to feel empathy for others increases. You care about situations and you want to help out. You don’t like to see too many people in pain. You even want to find ways where you can either heal yourself or heal others. If you listen to your inner guidance, you’ll realize that there’s only so much you can do. So, pay attention to your thoughts.

This is also a day when creativity is increased. You’re able to find ways to express your thoughts with beautiful concepts. If you’re an artistic individual, you’ll be able to produce very creative works of art. Even if you’re not an artistic individual, you’ll find new and creative ways to approach situations in life.

Both Mercury and Venus enter the sign of Aries on March 6th. You don’t want other people to tell you what to do. You want to work independently on your projects. You may even find it difficult to be patient. But it’s important not to rush into situations. If you take the time to listen, you’ll find value in what other people have to say.

On March 8th, Jupiter turns stationary retrograde. It will remain retrograde until July 10, 2018. While Jupiter retrograde may not impact you personally, it is important to pay attention to it if you have your own business. There’s a tendency to expand without conducting a financial analysis. The expansion could cost you more that you expect. There’s also a tendency to overpay for marketing strategies and advertising.

Where Jupiter turning retrograde can impact you on a mundane level is when IPOs are introduced during this time period. They have a tendency to start high and come down lower in the cost of shares. Or, they have a tendency to open lower than expected.

On a personal level when Jupiter is retrograde this is a great time to look into your life and find that balance between your spiritual and material needs. You may decide that it’s a good time to take special courses which help you understand your goals better. Or, you may decide that it’s time to review your goals and see if you are heading in the right direction.

Mercury will be turning retrograde at the end of this month. For this reason, there are two Mercury triad sequences that occur. A triad sequence is formed when a planet makes a particular aspect three times: the first time when the planet is in direct motion, the second time when the planet is retrograde, and the third time when the planet is once again in direction motion.

The first time Mercury makes a triad sequence is on March 9th when Mercury forms the first trine to Ceres retrograde. It will make the second trine on April 9, 2018 when Mercury is retrograde and Ceres is direct. It will make the third trine of this triad sequence on April 26, 2018 when Mercury and Ceres are both direct. Even though Mercury won’t turn retrograde until March 22, 2018, you will start feeling the effects of that retrograde Mercury today.

When Mercury forms the trine to Ceres retrograde it’s important that you listen to what other people have to say before you make any decisions. Quite frequently you need to compromise if you want to get anything done. It seems as if no one wants to give away anything with getting something in return. This is especially true if you’re trying to negotiate specific projects.

With this first trine, it’s better to gather the information you need. By the time the second trine occurs on April 9th, you want to sift through all your information to see if any of it can be discarded. By the third time the trine occurs on April 26th, you can make your final decisions and begin negotiations so you don’t have to give up anything important.

Mercury and Venus have separated from the conjunction they made on March 8th but they are still close enough for a while that Venus follows Mercury very closely in aspects with other planets for the next few days. Today, March 10th, Venus forms a trine to Ceres retrograde, just as Mercury did yesterday.

Today you want to determine what’s important to you. You want to find value in what you do. While you may need to be cautious with any negotiations that you undertake, you can still win if you stay true to your values.

Because both Venus and Ceres also indicate the importance of your feminine nature, it’s important to show compassion, even with Venus in Aries, towards other people without losing your identity. By listening to what others are saying, you’ll be able to know their real motivations. Do the best you can not to judge others too harshly if they disagree with your own ideas.

On March 11th, Mercury forms a second triad series by forming a square to Saturn. The second time that Mercury will form a square to Saturn is on April 5, 2018 when Mercury is retrograde and Saturn is direct. The last time that this triad sequence occurs will be on April 25, 2018 when Mercury is direct and Saturn is retrograde.

When Mercury forms a square to Saturn, you need to take things seriously. You don’t want to miss any details or take anything for granted. You approach situations slowly and methodically. If you try to come up with solutions too quickly, you’ll feel frustrated. Between now and April 25th when the last square between Mercury and Saturn occurs, take time to develop your ideas so you can build a solid foundation.

As Mars forms a trine to Uranus on March 11th, you may not want to slow down. You may want to rush into situations. But that could get you into trouble because you might miss something critical. A better way to use this energy is to focus on what’s important for the moment and only take action in those areas of your life.

Once again, Venus follows Mercury in forming a square to Saturn on March 13th, two days after Mercury formed the square. Relationships could be a problem because you may feel that other people are criticizing you. But, perhaps you’re being too critical and it’s you, not them. You may even fear making any decisions because you don’t want to be wrong. But this is a day to understand that you need to take one step at a time if you want to succeed. As long as you hold on to your value system, you’ll know how to take that one step at a time and achieve success.

When Mars forms a square to Chiron on March 14th, continue to release any fears that are standing in the way of your success. Realize that you can achieve your goals if you believe in yourself. If possible, think about all the successes you’ve had in the past so you can truly understand how successful you are.

Although the new Moon which occurs on March 17th has both the Sun and Moon in Pisces, the energy is actually beginning to shift from mutable Pisces to more of a cardinal energy. After the new Moon occurs, Mars will enter the sign of Capricorn.

Understanding this shift of energy is very important. When the prime energy was mutable Pisces, you needed to feel compassion for others and also focus on your aspirations. You were preparing to make changes in your life. With the prime energy now turning to a cardinal theme, you are ready to take action. You may even be willing to fight for what you believe in. This is a theme of both martial action and personal drive.

With the new Moon forming a conjunction to Chiron and a trine to Jupiter retrograde, this is an excellent day for meditation. Review your priorities and look at your self-defeating behaviors. Self-defeating actions are responses you learn when you were two years old or younger which you thought would bring you love, affection, and safety in your life. But, as an adult, these self-defeating behaviors are actually now hindrances to your success. Two good examples of a self-defeating behavior are avoiding confrontation or attacking others.

During the time of this new Moon, you’ll be able to not only see your self-defeating behaviors for the hindrances they are but actually release them from your life. You’ll understand that you don’t need to worry about situations you can’t control. You’ll realize that you have more control over your life when you don’t let your fears get in the way.

A few hours after the new Moon occurs, Mars enters the sign of Capricorn. With Mars in Capricorn you’re able to focus on important situations in your life. You solve problems by applying a practical approach. With Capricorn being a cardinal sign, you’re ready to take action.

On March 19th, Ceres turns stationary direct. Ceres went retrograde on December 16, 2017. When Ceres was retrograde you may have felt that you needed to compromise too often, to the point that you didn’t get what you want. Or, you may have spent more time improving your environment and not going out to have any fun. Now with Ceres turning direct you’ll be able to compromise from a position of strength. Also, with Ceres in Leo, you’ll find that you want to have more fun and bring this fun into your home.

When the Sun enters the sign of Aries on March 20th, a new astrological year begins. In the northern hemisphere it is the start of Spring while in the southern hemisphere it is the start of Fall. Either way, the Sun entering Aries represents a shifting of the energy and the beginning of something new.

This year the Sun forms a square to a conjunction formed between Mars and Saturn. And a square represents tension. With Mars involved, you want to take action. You don’t want to wait for all the facts. Yet, this Mars is slowed down by the fact that it’s both in Capricorn and it’s forming a conjunction to Saturn. For this reason it is more difficult to get things done quickly. What it really indicates is that you need to consider your strategy before you take any action.

With the Moon forming a trine to the conjunction of Mars and Saturn you get some spiritual help. If you listen to your inner guidance, you’ll be able to develop the right strategies that can lead to success. But, only if you listen.

Mercury and Venus appear to form a conjunction at this time. But it doesn’t happen because Mercury turns retrograde on March 22nd before the conjunction occurs. Also, because Mercury formed its first triad sequence on March 9th you may feel as if Mercury is already retrograde even though it hasn’t quite happened. With both Mercury and Venus in Aries, you want to speak your mind. You don’t want other people to tell you what to do. Yes, you’d like other people to support your actions and listen to your concerns. But if they aren’t willing to support you, you really don’t care. You’d rather do it on your own than change the way you do things. Because the conjunction between Mercury and Venus doesn’t occur, it’s more difficult for you to speak your mind and let people know what they need from you.

The most important underlying energy of this Aries ingress is indicated by the Sun forming a trine to Ceres. Many people give Ceres the role of understanding your relationship with your mother. While there’s truth in that, Ceres is much more. On a personal level, Ceres indicates how you negotiate with others and develop compromises that can lead to better solutions. While everyone has to give up something in a compromise, they can also win a lot more with a compromise. What makes this energy more important is that Mercury, in its first triad sequence formed a trine to Ceres retrograde on March 9, 2018.

So, this new astrological year is one where compromise is critical if you want to win. It’s also a year where you may have difficulty communicating with others. You may believe you have to either fight to succeed or do it on your own. You create a paradox when you aren’t willing to listen to others. Your success is generated when you find a way to stand up for your belief system while still engaging other people into your plan.

With Mercury turning stationary retrograde on March 22nd it becomes even more important to pull back and learn to listen if you don’t know how to do so now. Mercury will be retrograde until April 15, 2018.

With Mercury in Aries and retrograde there could be a lot of pent up anger and frustration. You may want to discuss matters with others, but you don’t feel as if they are listening. Or, instead of discussing matters with other, you feel as if you need to fight for your rights.

There’s also a tendency to rush into situations before you have all the facts. Because Mercury is retrograde it’s more important to proceed with caution and get all the facts before you make a final decision. During this retrograde period, take time to observe people and circumstances in your environment. Listen to what other people are saying. If possible, put off any important decisions until Mercury turns direct on April 15th. Since April 15th is also the final day for filing your taxes in the United States, give yourself extra time to double check all your figures before submitting the tax return. This is especially important if you itemize your tax return.

When Venus forms a square to Pluto on March 23rd you’re willing to slow down. You want to understand your surroundings. You want to know whether it’s best to hold on to your current situation or make changes. Because you’re not sure, you might feel some tension in your life.

There’s a tendency to feel frustrated when Venus forms a square to Pluto. You need to focus on important things in your life, but other people may tell you they aren’t as important as you think. It’s important that you stay true to your ideals and not let the opinions of other people sway you.

When Venus forms a quincunx to Jupiter retrograde on March 25th, you start re-evaluating what’s important in your life. You review your goals. Because Jupiter is involved in this quincunx, you want to rush into situations in order to meet your goals. But this is a day for reviewing your spiritual values and contemplating your actions. It’s not a day for rushing into situations because you will miss some important details.

As Mars forms a quincunx to Ceres on March 26th you still want to rush into situations. You may even feel militant about the actions you want to take. But situations around you are changing and any actions you take today could lead to greater conflict. Ceres represents the importance of knowing when to compromise while Mars represents the desire to just take what you can. You need to find the balance between these two energies if you don’t want to get into a major fight. The balance is to find your center of power and represent your viewpoint so other people are willing to listen and find ways to work with you.

When Venus forms a conjunction to Uranus on March 28th, expect the unexpected. You might run into an old friend. You might meet someone new. The key is to open your mind to new possibilities. Perhaps that old friend is someone you miss. Or, perhaps that new relationship is so different from any other you’ve had in the past. Enjoy the day but don’t make any long-term plans. After being with these individuals you may decide that you don’t want them in your life.

As the month of March ends, Venus enters the sign of Taurus and the second full Moon of the month occurs on March 31st. When Venus is in the sign of Taurus, you start focusing on your possessions and their meanings in your life. Perhaps you view these possessions as a symbol of your success. Or, perhaps you view these possessions as an emotional security blanket that you can wrap around yourself for protection. In addition to focusing on possessions, you also think about what you may want to accumulate in the future. When you think about what you can accumulate, don’t think just about things: think about relationships that bring value in your life. Understanding this will help you focus your goals if you want to make changes in your life.

The second full Moon that occurs on March 31st has the Sun is in Aries and the Moon is in Libra. This full Moon emphasizes the cardinal energy by creating a cardinal T-square. The Sun is conjunct Mercury retrograde while the Moon forms an opposition to Mercury retrograde. Both the Sun and Moon form a square to the Mars/Saturn conjunction.

A cardinal T-square can be a call to action. You want to rush out into the world to achieve your goals. You’re willing to fight for what you believe in. But with Mercury retrograde you may not be able to actually implement your plans. And, with the Mars/Saturn conjunction you need to approach situations with caution so you don’t get injured. The true lesson with to be learned from this full Moon is that you need to have a strategy before you take any action. And, once you start to take action you need to follow your plan.
